My dress in a trumpet style, and my crinoline is the spandex style. I don't notice a line. I can post pictures tomorrow, or email them if you'd like.
(bump) Please vote in the poll if you wore this style dress!! Thanks :)
I don't need a slip for my dress at all...the crinoline is built into the dress, and I'm already a thin person :)
Bump as I am curious about this very thing! I am a little overweight and worry about the bulge too (and the heat)! Does it cost much to have your seamstress add tulle to the bottom?
I just recently had my first dress fitting. I decided to get a trumpet crinoline slip w/the spandex on the top half. Without it, the dress sort of hung, with no volume what so ever. It made it feel like more of evening gown to me. I added the slip and am much more pleased with the look :)
Hi all,
I am really interested in seeing some pics! I am too considering wearing a crinoline slip but am concerned about lines. Also, my dress is all lace and I am thinking maybe the two wouldn't go... any thoughts?
Thanks in advance
I'm wearing a trumpet slip, no elastic on top. I'm wearing a long line bra with the dress too, and the slip goes over the bottom of the bra, so there's no bulge or anything. I think the slip added a lot to my dress and as a bonus made it so I didn't need to hem it!
This is the slip I'm using: http://www.davidsbridal.com/Product_Fit-and-Flare-Slip-550_Accessories-Lingerie-Slips
For future brides, to answer the question regarding seeing the waist line from the slip petticoat/crinoline... I just bought a mermaid style petticoat slip and because my dress has a built in corset, you can't see any line at all. It seems alot of dresses have that inner corset now a days, so if you have one in your dress, you wouldn't be able to see any line... that corset will pull in the belly bulge (if there is one) lol! It does with mine :)

Just wondering what brides with these dresses have chosen to do, crinoline/slip wise.
I've seen some spandex trumpet crinolines online that look appealing since they will hold the tummy in as well, but i wonder if the top band will cause a bulge/line in the dress since it doesn't seem to reach the braline. Anyone have experience with this?
What did you do/plan to do to give your dress that last bit of oomph?
