hi, ladies! I’ve started to put together my bridesmaid bouquets and bouts. I’ve done a practice of my bridesmaid and bout and was wondering if y’all could take a look and add some suggestions. I asked my mother, but she keeps insisting that it looks “junky” and says I should just have one flower in the bouquets and one single sweet grass rose for the bouts. She also ‘hates that green stick thing’ but I kinda love it and think it looks Christmas-y.
Everywhere I look I see these great textured, full, artistic flowers and that’s what I really love. I want everything to tie together and also look kinda wintery at the same time. I haven’t finished the ribbon off, yet, but each will be tied with the same color silver ribbon that’s around the bridesmaid bouquet. I also have two styles of bouts because I want the groom’s bout to be a little different.
so … here are my pictures. Give me your thoughts!!

Just realized the first bout picture didn’t show up! This is the groomsmen style that I made.

Neat! I haven’t seen flowers like that; what are they made of? I love the bouquets, and wouldn’t change them. I voted “on the right track” because I think the boutonnieres are too big. I think they might be distracting as-is. I’m not sure what I’d take out though, just …shrink it all by 50% or something, lol.

I LOVE your bridesmaid bouquet. LOVE LOVE LOVE. It doesn’t look junky at all!
I like the bouts, too. I agree that they are maybe just slightly too big, though.

I think the bouquets and the second bout look great, but I think the white thing in the back of the first bout is far too large and overwelming. Definitely on track though!!

I LOVE YOUR BOUQUETS. Sorry for the all caps, they’re just that awesome. Winter brides, say hey!
That said, I’m not wholly in love with your bouts. Similar to PPs, they look a little too overpowering to me. I would say ditch everything but the rose or the rose and the greenery, since it’s something that you love. Keep us posted on the final result!

I love the bouts !!! Great job !!! I would suggest and maybe this is just the photo colour but changing the colours a bit in the bouquet the white roses don’t blend well???

I think they look great- the bouts are a little big for my liking- but if you love them- that’s all that matters!! I have to ask- how many of each flower did you use in your bouquet and how many in the bm’s? And where did you find your sweet grass roses? They are gorgeous!!!

Thanks everyone! I’m going to revise the bouts a little. I’ll post another picture after! I’ll try and find some smaller sweet grass roses. Maybe that’ll help with the size a little!
Haven’t started on my bouquet, yet, but when I do, I’ll definitely put up a picture for suggestions!
@ashelaine: Thanks! haven’t finished my bouquet, yet. For the bridesmaid bouquet, I used 15 rose buds, 3 sweet grass roses and 3 cala lilies. The sweet grass roses were made by a student of my mom’s here in Charleston. I figured if I was going to pay for them anyways, I may as well give the money to a child I know. He made me 20 for $40!
y’all are the best!

I love the bouts but something is missing in the bouquets. I think you should add a bit of greenery or filler to them and something of a different texture. Overall great job though!

I love the sweetgrass flowers, so Charleston! I’ve thought about using those as a full bouquet.

@SnowBride2013: You’ve done a great job! I think adding roses or a round full flower that is partially bloomed would add great texture and dimension and a feminine softness. This is my florists work using partially bloomed flowers.

hide the sticks poking out the bottom with the stems in your first pic. Other than that, great

Looking great, particularly love the ribbon and the pearl buttons.
