hey bees!  I went for my very first makeup trial today.  I love my makeup artist who was extremely patient and flexible. In the end, I love how my skin, cheeks and lips look but something is missing in the eyes.  I just can't pinpoint it.  I want to look radiant, romantic, and soft.  I tried color on the eyes and thought it was too glamourous for the pretty, romantic feel I was going for.  Still, I feel like my eyes don't pop.  What say you?

You look gorgeous! I think she probably could have been a little heavier-handed on the color eyeshadow she used and it would make your eyes stand out more, but I like the color!

I think with the eyes she could have went darker/smokier and winged it out. Also, are you doing false lashes? I absolutely love the lip color btw!

I agree I think she could have find ways to make your eyes pop without doing a dramatic or smoky eye if you wanted something more romantic. I just don't think the eyes look special enough. Your lips and blush look awesome!

@NJmeetsBX:  Your skin looks flawless, what a great trial! I think maybe more mascara? Or a little more eyeliner...something to create more of a pop with your eyes.

I agree with TwoCityBride & mrscheetos, smokier and more eyeshadow: the look she gave you is very fresh and innocent, but doesn't have too much drama.

I think a few false eyelashes would give you that pop you're looking for, I love this simple clean makeup!! Same look I'm going for on my day!

Thanks, bees.  She tried to smoke the eye out more but I didn't like it.  I don't want to look glamorous or over the top.  The ceremony is outdoors during the day and the feel of it is romantic...lots of babys breath, I have a lace dress, my bouquet is white and fluffy, etc.  Maybe we can use different colors on the eyes?  Golds/bronzes perhaps?  This was more neutrals like sand and brown.

I do have on false lashes, but my natural lashes are really long so it didn't seem to different to me.

Gorgeous! I agree though with PP's that some false eyelashes could give it a little extra drama.

I love how natural it looks!  If you want more pop on your eyes, I think she needs to put on just a bit more eyeshadow and maybe even use fake lashes.  Maybe that would help you achieve the look you're looking for?

I love the coral on the cheeks and the lips you look incredibly radiant and that is the perfect tone for your skin - the eye shadow color she used too me does not go as well with your skin and would love to see some copper and peach instead of the taupe and champagne (kind of a purple undertone to me)

    You are gorgeous!!!

    @NJmeetsBX:

    Tightlining! http://mysoulisthesky.blogspot.com/2012/01/tightlining.html

Also, Maybe more of a liquid/cream liner on the top. Smudge it into the lash line and it can still be soft but with more definition along the lashes making them look thicker and darker.

I must say though, your make up really does look beautiful and you are one pretty lady! :)

I'd smoke up the eye with a deep plum or eggplant color.

You look so gorgeous! But I agree that your eyes could pop a little more. There has to be a compromise between this and going totally glammed out. I don't think a smokey eye is what you need, but maybe something a little stronger/more noticeable than this. Also remember that your makeup will need to be heavier than you'd like in person so that it will look good in photos. :)

Thanks, everyone.  You are all too sweet, now I'm blushing!

@brenda.m.fields:  We started the trial with purples on the lids and I didn't like it.  I loved it for a night out on the town but not for the wedding day.

@unixfairy:  Copper!  Yes that is a good color!  Thanks!

@NJmeetsBX:  You look lovely! Since your wedding is outdoors during the day, and you're going for a romantic feel, why not dip into some soft pink or berry eyeshadow? I really think that is all you would need on the eyes. I understand how smoky eyes might be too heavy a look for your day, so perhaps a touch of the right color would do the trick! I suggest staying in the berry family to compliment your blush and overall tone. Be sure to take a photo of yourself outdoors and see what you think since your wedding will also be outdoors. The diffused sunlight will play differently on your makeup and skin than indoors. Good luck!

@NJmeetsBX:  I could be the purples she used or how much, but I also think coppers and golds would like nice on your skin. I think maybe there's too much silver and white going on in the picture. Seriously, the peach-tones on the rest of your face look amazing, though!

as for your look, I love it, your so pretty!! I do think that maybe with your eyes, she could have went a little bit darker- and add a little falsies to the last few lashes to give it such a pretty elegant look. (: over all, so pretty!

What a gorgeous girl you are ! I love everything about your makeup ! Very romantic and soft. I think making your eyes smokier would make them pop, bring more attention to them.

What a great look for you! I wouldn't change much of anything. I know a lot of bees are suggesting more dramatic eye makeup, but I think what you have here is just about perfect. The only tweak I might make is to use a warmer-toned eyeshadow, like a nude copper or bronze; it'll really complement your skin tone.

I agree with PPs, something shimmery gold or champagne or light copper, or rosy gold? Something light and iridescent and ethereal! You're gorgeous!

LOVE everything about it. My personal taste would add some more mascara to the eye to make it stand out a little more. I'm a fan of the understated eye shadow, so I'm right there with you. But if those are your natural eye lashes, they are freakin gorgeous!! Add some mascara to make them just a liiiiittle darker?? :) you are gorgeous btw.

adding some bronze and light brown shadow would help pop without people looking at you and seeing "your eyeshadow is so pretty!" instead they might say "wow you look radiant" fiddle with it at home or run up to a local shop like ulta or the mall and play around a little until you find something that makes you more comfortable!

I absolutely love everything except your eye makeup. Your skin looks flawless and your lips and cheeks are the perfect shade of pink.

I would look for a pale yellow or gold shimmery eyeshadow to be put densely on the lid and then lightly blended outward. I'd also add thicker, longer fake eyelashes. It will give you a soft look (I can't stand dramatic eyeshadow on myself but I do love shimmery eyeshadows) and a little bit of color without making it look too dramatic.

Good luck!! You're going to look GORGEOUS!!!

I would add a tiny bit of shimmer under the eyebrow and a darker shade in the crease of the sockets, and the outer sides.

I don't think you need to go heavier on the eye color...I think you've achieved the romantic/lighter feel that you wanted...you could try SLIGHTLY thicker lashes...not mascara, add falsies. You don't need to use the really thick ones as they come...you/your stylist can cut them to look great with your face.

You're gorgeous and your skin is amazing! I agree that making the eyes a little more dramatic would be a good thing. Instead of a smoky/glam look, maybe bronzes, pinks, golds, etc.

I think that some chocolate brown shadow might work for you -- a darker color on the lids. NOT smoky (those blackish-greyish colors) -- but a rich brown will help your eyes pop, IMO. LOVE the rest.
