Trying to decide between a Hawaii honeymoon or a Croatia Honeymoon
A little background- looking for beach + adventure. We both are fairly active (surf, hike, etc.) Which is why i was originally thinking Hawaii. But seeing Croatia with it’s old world European flair and beautiful waters has me second guessing my original thought.
For Hawaii we would go to: Honolulu, Maui, and Kauai
For Croatia we would go to: Split, Hvar, Vela Luka, and Dubrovnik
Please help me decide!!!

For a honeymoon, definitely Hawaii. Relaxing a bit after the wedding is great, and the warm weather would be a necessity for me!
I go to Europe every year and I find it exhausting. It takes me a week to get over jet lag and hopping from city to city drains me. For a honeymoon I think warm weather and relaxing with a little adventure is the way to go.

We also may do Croatia on our honeymoon… Go to Croatia while you’re young and active.

- Wedding: November 2013 - St. Augustine Beach, FL
Do Croatia while it’s hot. Hawaii will always be there for another time.

Just a note that if you are considering Hawaii, and you are very active, you might want to consider the Big Island. It is known as being one of the best islands for hiking and other activities. The waves aren’t as big there for surfing but that makes it great for snorkeling, paddleboarding and kayaking. I have never been to Croatia though I hear it is gorgeous so I am sure it would be a great place as well!

Croatia, no question. The coolest place I’ve ever been.

Hawaii! I’ve been to both and there is NOTHING like the tropical and serene beaches in hawaii. I want to go right now.

I would probably choose Croatia, but I am thinking you can’t loose here.

Do you think traveling to 4 different spots in Croatia will be too much? We are going for 10 days. Is there one spot you would reccomend over the other? Or should we do all four? Our current itinary includes: Split, Hvar, Vela Luka, & Dubrovnik

I much prefer normal Americanized vacation spots, so Hawaii all the way!

@esi142: I love the idea of splitting the time between the different places. After I replied to your post I watched a few YouTube travel videos on Croatia and I’d want to see them all, too! So beautiful!! I have a friend who has been to Dubrovnik a few times, so that’s all I really know of the country.
