#22 is off the list after an amazing proposal! I can’t believe it.. First, check out our story in the Spotlight in this week’s Waiting List! http://boards.weddingbee.com/topic/the-waiting-list-112414/
It was a regular day that turned out amazing! We got up, I made us breakfast, and we hung out for a while. Around 3:30 pm, I suggested we go get a Christmas tree. Little did I know that “tree day” was the day he was planning to propose! We went to our normal tree farm where you pick and cut it yourself, and got a beautiful tree. On the way home had a nice conversation about the traditions we’ve created together and he suggested we pick up some traditional tree-decorating-beverages. We got home, put on some music, and put up the tree (including rearranging the living room for it to fit!).
I love tree day. As we decorated it together, I kept commenting on how beautiful our tree was. Once we finished decorating and had everything put away and cleaned up, he suggested we turn off all the lights in the house so we could properly admire our tree. This is pretty normal for us; we usually turn off all the lights and just sit in front of the tree, talking, drinking eggnog, and being merry. Anyway, he sent me upstairs to turn off the lights and he turned off the lights downstairs, and then we sat in our chairs in front of the tree. We talked for a minute, and then he asked me, “What is that?” and pointed at the tree. I didn’t see what he was talking about, as he kept pointing, I noticed a ribbon hanging on the tree and thought an ornament broke. As I kept looking at the ribbon, I realized that it wasn’t a broken ornament, but that there was a ring on it! Once I realized it was I ring, my hands flew to my mouth and tears came to my eyes. We stood up, only for him to get down on one knee, say sweet things, and ask me to marry him! I said yes, we cried and kissed, and then he took the ring off the tree and put it on my finger!
It was sweet and perfect. He is amazing, and I am so lucky to get to spend the rest of my life with him!
As for the ring, it is perfect. I really like 6 prong settings and love intricate details. He did better than I thought possible. It is amazing.
