I'm ENGAGED!!!

Mr. Roux is a very sneaky tricky man. He told me ages ago that he wanted to go to the Brunswick market, which is on the other side of town, so last night he suggested we go in the morning because I didn't have work till 4. So around 10, we get ready to go, and in the car Mr. Roux started taking a weird route on the freeway, but he convinced me that he was just a bit lost and I didn't think anything of it because we aren't really familiar with that side of town.

Then I got a text message from my boss telling me he didn't need me to come in today, which was weird, but I was happy because we could browse the market for longer. Then Mr. Roux turned a few corners and I realised we were near Melbourne Zoo, which is where we had a very significant date back in 2006 when we were first dating, and where we would like to get married. But again Mr. Roux convinced me that we were going to the market. I was getting suspicious, but gave him the benefit of the doubt.

Finally he pulls into to parking lot, and I just looked at him and said 'You're Tricky!' So we went in (he had arranged free entry because we were looking at the function rooms.) and had a bit of a tour of the function rooms at the zoo. Some are fantastic! Then we had lunch and he gave me a wedding folder I've been lusting over, and wedding themed post its for bookmarking magazine pages.

Then we explored the whole Zoo, (and saw the cutest baby elephant) and had icecream. I decided not to think about the proposal and just focus on having fun, just incase today wasn't the day.

Finally on a bridge that we had once kissed in the rain on, we stood nose to nose while he told me the most beautiful things about wanting me to be his wife, he pulled out my beautiful ring and asked me to marry him. I of course said yes!! Then we kissed and hugged and I couldn't stop smiling!!

On the way home we bought champagne and told my mum, then we went out for dinner at our favourite restaurant, then we went to tell my dad and his parents (more champagne! lucky we bought little bottles!. Then we got more icecream on the way home.

I'm so happy my face hurts from smiling!

Here are some pics, I hope they work. I'll try to take better ones tomorrow in the sunlight. Its 1ct, plus .3ct in side stones, set in yellow gold. Its much more sparkly in real life!

No we never went to the market!! ANd we really need some groceries! lol.

I just re-read my post and realised that in my excitement I left a few important details out!

Mr. Roux had called my boss and arranged for me to have the day off, isn't that sweet?

And after we left the Zoo and got back to the car, Mr. Roux gave me another present. It was a framed print out of the beautiful speech he gave while asking me to marry him, which is so sweet because I had totally forgotten what he had said during the actual proposal.

We told his parents by me asking his mum what she would like for mothers day. She said 'Oh you don't have to get me anything, you aren't my daughter yet' Then realised what she said and tried to back track which is when I showed her the ring and said 'But I'll be your daughter in law soon!'
