Well, it seems as though me, my fiance, and our pup Bella are one of the final choices to adopt a sweet pup that had been totally emaciated by his former owner. He was rescued by a woman who then injured herself and couldn’t keep him, and she turned him over to a rescue.
I have been waiting to hear back from the rescue now for a few weeks, and had just about given up hope when I got an email last night asking if we are still interested! I am impatiently waiting on an email back to tell us a little more about him and his personality/quirks to ensure he’d be a good fit. The waiting is KILLING ME!
So if everyone will think GOOD thoughts for Willy to pick us as his family, I’d appreciate it! Here is a picture of him from the rescue’s facebook page when he was on his way to get neutered. Isn’t he just precious!?
And this is a picture of how badly emaciated he is :

Sending good thoughts your way! He looks like a happy pup who just needs some love and attention. I hope you get good news soon!!
Also, when we adopted our second Siberian Husky, she was 1 year old and severly underweight (she has thick fluffy fur and you could see her ribs through it, scary!). It took her about 3 months before she started gaining weight, but we took both of them on nightly walks, and one semi-hilly hike on the weekends. She build up muscle pretty quickly and is now a healthy size. Don’t just feed him lots of food and let him sit around all day. Make sure he exercises and builds muscle with all those calories he’s eating. I’m not suggesting you take him on a 5 mile run next week, but definitely go for walks regularly and play with him. Start slow and build up gradually. Again, good luck and keep us posted please!

He is a gorgeous dane, though. I’m sure he’ll pick you and will live a fulfilled and happy life with your family!
