I'm not sure I'd use such an option, but I'd prefer it over disposable cameras, at least.
@sleman: I wouldn't welcome such a service. I feel it would take away too much from the day of. Also, it may violate or upset the main photographer with too many Uncle Joe's trying to get the same shots, just to display on the screen.
Actually I like the idea... I just think you have to trust your guests to be.. uh... mature... and sober... or both.
Anyone who's ever sifted through pictures from disposable cameras left on tables should know what I'm talking about.
@USER876: Agreed!
In theory this sounds like a great idea, but there are too many variables that could turn this into a very bad idea!
We thought about this since DH is a programmer, but in the end didn't end up doing it because of time and what the above posters said. If you're trying to sell it as a product though, I think people would buy it. People by EVERYTHING related to weddings
What if every photo was moderated by a live person before it went live? How much would you pay for something like this?
I've seen something like this at bars but it only works when you text photos from your phone - would the service be able to receive from non-phone cameras also? I just can't wrap my head around how it would work.
Well, all mobile phones now have the ability to take a picture. So you'd take a picture, e-mail it to an address, then have the picture show up in realtime in a slideshow. Not sure yet about accepting photos from cameras as that's a bit more complicated and cumbersome.
@sleman: That's what I figured, that's why I was confused about your comment about the quality of digital cameras. Many couples "collect" photos from their guests on Flickr or another photo hosting site after the wedding, I'm not sure there's a need for an aditional service.

A buddy of mine is working on a service to allow guests attending a wedding to send their pictures in realtime and have a live slideshow appear for everyone to watch. I personally think with the quality of digital cameras nowadays, it sure beats the good ole idea of having disposable cameras at your reception. What do you think about this?
