I picked resort mainly because I’d just rather be able to explore a lot of one area/country over my honeymoon.  I think it also would depend too on your budget though because I saw some cruises when researching honeymoon stuff that gave you a lot more for your money.  And we haven’t been there but if we had had the money for a caribbean honeymoon we would have gone to St. Lucia from what we saw if that helps.

I picked a resort because it just seems like you have more options there.  With a cruise, you are going to be stuck with their schedule.  Having to be up early if you want to go on a shore excursion, be back at the boat a specific time, etc…I like the idea of being on vacation on my schedule…not to mention, I hate boats. LOL

I picked cruise bc I do not travel nuch and the idea of being able to go to many different countries on once vacation was appealing to me. A word of caution if you do choose a cruise drinks ar NOT included in your price so you will end up spending $$. The alcoholic beverage prices were comparable to bar costs.

We chose a resort because we don’t want to have any schedules. The on and off time tables of a cruise would add stress that we don’t want to deal with and we will always have the option of walking to the beach at any hour of the day or night at a resort. Also, we love not having to worry about anything at all inclusive resorts. I know it is ultimately more expensive in some situations but not having to spend additional money is a great feeling and you don’t have any excuse for not staying hydrated! We’re doing Sandals St. Lucia FYI.

I say resort because it is much more free and relaxing. yes, there is a lot to do on a cruise and you get to see a lot of places, but we are going to an all inclusive resort and there is a crap ton of stuff to do!! Plus, resorts can be all inclusive whereas cruises usually arent. It’s not just the drinks that are extra but also the excursions that can be pretty pricey. Also, you are more restricted because of a schedule on a cruise. You will have to be at a certain place at a certain time to get to your excursions and also be back to the boat by a certain time. I feel like there is a lot less to think about when you are at a resort!

honestly, i think any would be awesome. after the wedding you’ll just want to relax, and those are both good places to do that.

we took a royal caribbean cruise, the oasis of the seas. it’s the new one, the biggest ship out there right now, and we loved it. we could relax by the pool, go zip lining, my husband surfed, there’s always something to do. plus everything is included so it wasn’t too expensive. we did all beach excursions, and it was nice to spend the day at the beach.

I think both are great options! We’re actually asking ourselves the same question right now, too. I’d look into cost and schedules and see what is the best fit for you and your fiance.

I picked Resort. I agree with a lot of the other answers, it would be nice to explore one place and spend your time doing it.

I went on a cruise of my birthday one year. I had a lot of fun but I just don’t think I would want to do it for my honeymoon.

I looove cruises (been on 3) but I don’t think I would go on one for my honeymoon. I would rather go to a resort and spend my time in one place… much more relaxing!

We’re going on a cruise to the caribbean for our honeymoon. Neither of us have ever been on one so I’m a little worried about getting sea sick… but there are TONS of reasons why we picked cruise 1- it’s a new thing for us 2-we just want to have fun and our crusie line, royal caribbean (oasis of the sea) seems to have tons of stuff to do (simulated surfing, zip lines, a park in the center of the boat, pools…) 3- we get to go to and explore different places 4- don’t have to worry so much about planning out your day- just relax and see where the day and boat takes you (im a BIG planner so this def was something good for me) I know there will be some planning involved as far as what are we going to do once we dock at the different destinations but still I figured it’d be a lot less stressful for me to already know where we’re going day by day– like i said, we like to have fun and we aren’t much for sitting by the pool all day 5-costs were good- transportation (boat), food, room and most all activites on the boat are included! ๐Ÿ™‚
