My Fiance and I LOVE to cruise and we really want to go on a cruise on our honeymoon. The problem is that my Fiance just started a new job and will only be able to take a week off. If he does this then we will not be able to travel to Iowa for his family reunion in July. So the plan was to get married in Charleston on Sat and spend a few nights alone in Charleston, then head back through columbia and grab our 3 kids to head to Nashville for a night or two then off to Iowa for the weekend.
However, I still want to go on a cruise!
So we were looking today at 3 day cruises that would leave on a Fri and return on Mon. Still plenty of time to head to Nashville and then on up to Iowa.
Another option is to go on a longer one that leaves on Thurs or Fri and skip Nashville altogether. We really didn’t want to do this though, because kids in a car for long stretches of time can be a BAD thing. Last year my mom and I drove from SC to El Paso, TX (a 24 hour drive straight through) with my 3 kids to visit my brother while he was stationed there. Another trip to Killeen, TX (when my Fiance was still in the military) and several 11 hour trips to KY while my brother was stationed there (before El Paso) tells me I really don’t want to do this in a short weekend without a break in there.
So my question is, for you bees who cruise often (I know it is not a limited supply) are 3 day cruises really worth the time, trip and money? I have been told in the past, by an frequent cruiser, that they were not. Also, taking this man’s perception on a lot of things into consideration though, and I know that just his opinon is not something I should base this situation on. So please help!
