I'm going to bump this one more time....anyone have anything? I'm kind of desperate, no clue where to begin with crystal :(
Honestly, you might want to make an appointment with the registry person at Macys or Bloomingdales and meet with them...they'll know some things about crystal, and then you'll be able to see and hold the pieces which I think is key with an large investment.
I would suggest Bloomingdales over Macy's for crystal, but agree that registry consultant would be your best bet :)

MIL has decided, since we didn't get any crystal as wedding gifts, that she is going to buy us a crystal collection. I poked around a couple of sites (Bloomingdales, Neiman Marcus) but I'm having a hard time figuring out what a crystal collection should entail, what brands are the best, and finding a list of patterns seems darn near impossible. Does anyone have a good reference for this?
