We registered for the crystal at BBB, too! I wanted to and I had the older family members asking about my crystal and china so I went ahead. If I get some, Ill be really excited but if I don’t then I’ll buy a couple myself and slowly add on to it. I really would like some as heirloom pieces and to pull out for special occasions. We also registered for the every day glass wine glasses and goblets.

Ha registering was SO OVERWHELMING, I agree! I’m glad it’s over but it took a while.

We registered, and were lucky to receive, crystal, but I don’t think that it’s a necessity.  Ours “set off” our china, which is why we asked for them.

They can be a pain in the butt to take care of and are expensive, so I would just think about whether you can see yourself actually using them and/if they go with your lifestyle.

We picked a nice everyday wine glasses from Crate & Barrel and then got our Crystal Stemware from upscalegallery.com. They are waterford but are way less expensive then at BB&B and Macy’s so I’m hoping people will get us double!

I think it is important to have Crystal on your registry if your planning to use it in the future. It’s a way to start collecting your pieces early on and save some money. If you have no use for it then there is no point in registering for it…

As of now, FI and I own pretty much nothing for our future home (we’re moving countries so we have to start form scratch again) so we’re not registering for crystal or china, we need the essentials.. if for some lucky reason we end up getting a ton of our registry stuff right away and i need to add more, i’ll add that stuff, if not- i’d rather have all the essentials for the time being!
