Hello!
The three caterers you mentioned have good reputations. We talked to A Thyme to Cook but they were way out of our price range. Coastal Gourmet was excellent to deal with trying to get a quote; we ended up going with someone else but I have many friends that rave about them. Gourmet Galley just would not call me back for some reason, so while I have heard good things it was extremely frustrating just trying to get in contact with them!
For hair and make-up I am going with Larissa Lake. Her work is beautiful, she is so sweet to deal with, and was affordable too! I think she is pretty popular with CT brides. Here is her site: http://www.larissalakemakeupartist.com/
I don't know anything about bands though :(
I've heard the Zoo at local bars and they are GREAT!!! I've never heard of any of the other bands though hope this helps!
I know this is a late response but for what's it is worth -
I highly recommend staying away from Coastal Gourmet. I had a terrible experience with them. You can message me for details if you want but I would never trust them to pull off a large event like my wedding.
As for bands - the Zoo is awesome! I have seen them so many times, although not recently. They have great energy, play all modern stuff, and really get the crowd going.
I'm using Sara Faella for hair/makeup but she is based in RI (my wedding is near the RI border) so I dont know if that would be a good choice for you. But she is awesome!
Hope this helps.
We are using the Shaded Soul Band. Their prices were more reasonable than the other bands we spoke with and they are amazing! We saw them perform at a local bar and they really got the crowd going. They are even willing to learn a song my fiancee is composing for our first dance =-)
We are using the Beauty Entourage for hair/makeup since they come on site to where we are getting ready. They're a little pricey, but they do a good job! (had my hair/makeup done by them as a bridesmaid in my sister's wedding).
@larlac22: Really good to know abt Coastal Gourment. We went with another caterer not on the list but I do appreciate the feedback!
hey! i'm having my wedding at tyrone on june 30th ... and i'd love to hear what vendors did you ended up going with, just for fun. we're using gourmet galley.. jennie fresa for hair/makeup... eight to the bar as a band... and i feel like so many others at this point i can't even remember. how is planning going?!

Hi Ladies,
I'm having my wedding in CT in the Fall of 2012 at Tyrone Farm. My fiance and I are not from CT so we don't know much about local CT vendors. Wanted to throw out some names and get ideas on if anyone has worked with them before.
1. Caterers: Coastal Gourmet, A Thyme to Cook, Gourmet Gallery?
2. Bands: Nightshift, Soho, District 21 or The Zoo (all boston bands, I believe)?
3.Makeup and Hair? Any suggestions are helpful
Also, if anyone has held their wedding at Tyrone or has been to a wedding there, any tips would be greatly apprecaited :)
Many many thanks!!
