Georgetown Cupcakes? Never been but I've seen the tv show :)
I had a cupcake at one of the cakelove stores with one of my friends. We each had a different flavor and I hate to say we were both very unimpressed! We felt they were overpriced and nothing exciting. We vowed never to go back. But, maybe they do a better offering for weddings... I've only been once so don't have extensive experience with them.
No, Cake Love is not that good. I live near there and it's never good whenever we try it. Neither is Georgetown - I think Hello Cupcake and Baked and Wired both have better cupcakes than Georgetown.
We're getting our wedding cake from Fluffy Thoughts and they also sell lots of cupcakes. The cake tasting we had was awesome, and my future aunt-in-law who came with us brought some cupcakes home to her hubby and he said "I"m not a cupcake guy but they were great".
I'd check them out - great little bakery. I'd imagine they're what you're looking for!
I'm not sure if they deliver, but Cupcakes Actually in Fairfax has the best cupcakes of all the cupcake places in the DC area, in my humble opinion!
if anyone wants to try Fluffy Thoughts, there is a living social deal for them today - $10 for $20 worth.

We tried Georgetown, Hello Cupcake, Red Velvet Cupcakery, The Bakeshop (in Arlington, VA) and ended up choosing FreeForAllCupcakes.com. It is a sister team in NoVA who makes cupcakes that are gluten free, etc (also regular cupcakes) and will deliver to your venue. They do not have all the fancy flavors that some of the bigger shops carry, but still quality ingredients. Ultimately, they were the best tasting, best price, and overall better deal. I highly recommend you check them out!
We're going with Georgetown cupcake. Our wedding is in Georgetown so it's super easy for us to have them delivered to the venue.
Word on the street is that Baked and Wired is way better than Georgetown Cupcake (both in Georgetown).
I've had Alexandria Cupcake, Cake Love, and Lavender Moon Cupcakery (in Old Town Alexandria) and my favorite was Lavender Moon, followed by Cake Love, and I wasn't impressed with Alexandria Cupcake.
I thought i was the only person that had no love for Cake Love. I have never liked anything that I tasted there. I LOVE Hello Cupcake at Dupont Circle. DELICIOUS!
georgetown cupcake!! ordering from them was super super easy, and they deliver. and they're my favorite in dc (not that i've tried everything--but i personally like them better than hello cupcake, cake love, red velvet, and baked and wired, something sweet, buzz bakery, fluffy thoughts...we ate a lot of cupcakes before deciding 
). they were a huge crowd pleaser!
I used cupcakes: With Sugar on Top in Hurlock, MD but she delivers to the DC area.
Also, I showed her a picture of exactly what I wanted from Baltimore Cupcake Company & she did it at 1/3 less of the cost. Can't beat that!

Has anyone used a local DC vendor for cupcakes? We are forgoing the wedding cake but want to have a display of delicious cupcakes. We'd like to choose a baker that will deliver to our venue. We are thinking about Cake Love... does anyone have any experience with them? Thanks for your suggestions!
