We haven't booked anything yet, but we're planning on Curucao, and I've fallen in love with the Lodge Kura Hulanda. Check out perfectescapes.com - they seem to have really good prices for LKH. I don't know much about that website (though tripadvisor is legit, and perfectescapes is one of the options on tripadvisor when you're searching for rates.) I figure I'll talk to a travel agent to see what the best deal we can get is.
And wow, you're organized! We're planning to go in July, and haven't booked anything yet...
ha, yea, we figured that we would at least look at prices and pick hotels now so that we can keep an eye on specials and book in the next month or 2...
I was looking into 5 days at the marriot and then renting a car and driving up for 2-3 at lodge kura hulanda... that way we could be close to the city and do the all inclusive thing there and then get a few days of more isolation and drive around to explore the western beaches...
i was hoping someone had been there for some restaurant or beach advice! or to yay or nay the hotels! im excited though, it looks like a beautiful island.. and a little different.. i dont really know anyone who has been.
My fiance was there a long time ago when he was in the Navy - he said it really stood out as a place where the locals were very welcoming to Americans (I guess that was not the case everywhere). That stuck with him so much that once we thought of it for the honeymoon, we never really considered anywhere else.
Assuming we do go (barring meteor strikes or something, nothing will keep us from it) - I can report back on restaurants after July. It's supposed to be one of the best (along with St. Martin) of the Carribean islands for food. Yum...
ooh thanks! that would be great! Trip Advisor is giving mixed reviews on everything!

We are probably going to book our October honeymoon to Curacao in the next week or 2 and was curious if any of you have been before? Anyone have any suggestions as to where to go, where to eat?
We are leaning toward 5 nights at the Marriott with all inclusive (although we will splurge for dinner out in the city at some point) and then 2-3 nights on the west coast at Lodge Kura Hulanda. We like an adventure but being that it is our honeymoon we mostly want to lie in the sun and soak in the beauty.
