I bought a dress back in january. Since then, I’ve lost 60lbs. I LOVE my dress. When I was sixty pounds heavier, the ONLY style of dress that I liked on myself was A-line. I went into a shop today, to find out if they sold hair pieces/veils. While I was in there, a dress caught my eye, it was a size 20. The dress I already own is a 22 (I had ordered it smaller, knowing I was gonna try to lose weight) I was a size 24/26 at the time. I asked if I could try it on, because it was such a different style then any of the dresses I had allowed myself/wanted to try on 60lbs ago. I was genuinely curious to see if all my hard work had paid off, I guess I just wanted to feel a sense of gratification! I knew that there was a slim to non chance that I’d ever actually WANT the dress I was trying on, seeing as I really had my heart set on lace and I really wanted a vintage-y look (Which is exactly what the dress I already have looks like 🙂 ) I guess Im just proud of myself for squeezing into the size 20 and feeling good about the way I looked, it kinda threw me into a tail-spin of “oh my god, maybe I should have waited, maybe I COULD have worn a style besides A-line” but oh well. I have an emotional attachment to my dress already, and I’m gonna keep it, and hopefully the alterations won’t be a huge headache (I plan to try and lose more weight by June)
MY dress is the first one.
the dress from today is the second one!
(keep in mind, I’m 30lbs smaller today, than I was the last time I tried MY dress on. I haven’t tried my dress on since May…
Oh ya….I forgot to mention…..the sample I tried on today was ONLY $600 on sale…..UGH, way to make it hard, huh?

Congrats on your weight loss! That is a huge accomplishment. I love both dresses, but I love A-lines and lace, so #1 is definitely my favorite. You will look beautiful on your big day no matter what 🙂

@MUAbride2be: congratulations on your weight loss. You look wonderful!!! If you really can’t stop thinking about Dress #2 and your budget allows it, you can buy it and then sell your first dress.

Congrats on your weight loss!
I like both dresses, but I prefer the style of the first one. I’m sure once you try it on in the proper size, you’ll feel just as amazing as you did in this new one.

That is awesome, you inspire me, you look fantastic!!! I think both dresses are beautiful, you should definitely try on your original dress again, and post pics!! I don’t love my dress and am working on losing weight and if I find something else that looks awesome, I won’t hesitate to buy it (if it’s affordable..). If you love dress 2 I say go for it, it looks awesome on you!

I hope saying this won’t get me in trouble.. 😉 BUT I love the 2nd dress on you. I worked as a Bridal Consultant for 6 months previously at a popular bridal store here in Vancouver. That dress is called the Adora I think but I forgot who the designer is.. it was such a huge hit as it suited a lot of body types and looked flattering on all. It has that old hollywood glamour feel to it. If you can budget for a 2nd dress to wear during the Reception I would say “go for it!”.

You look fantastic! Try the original back on for sure!

I still love the first dress on you! Congrats on your weightloss, you look fabulous! If you still want something more fitted when alterations roll around, maybe your seamstress can pull it in more at the hips to make it a modified A-line/ fit and flare?

@Lyndzo: thank you so much, congrats on your baby too 😉
@lulu_honey: thank you so much 😀
@howsweetitis: I can try it on at any time, I have it safely stored at my parents house, I’m just so nervous to try it on for some reason!
@mrs-to-be-2014: the thought crossed my mind. I don’t know, that’s a tough call, the first dress has been MY dress for almost a year now….plus my mom and brother helped pay for my dress, so part of me feels obligation to hold onto it, ya know? I also really wanted lace…so there’s that too…
@allyfally: thanks,I need to hear that. 🙂
@jny1179: thank you! It was weightwatchers, and becoming more active….I definitely will be trying on my dress again soon, I think I need to stop procrastinating….I think I’ll be really excited about my dress, once I try it on again…
@girlgetsring: was it midgley-sottero? It IS a very pretty dress, but I really AM go for that vintage, lace look….so, with that said, I’m probably better off sticking to my original.

@xoxovmarie: thanks so much, that’s exactly what I needed to hear, and I have a gut feeling that you are right!
@SaraP2012: thank you so much, again, exactly what I need to hear….the more and more I think about it, the more guilty I feel even trying I that other dress…I feel like I had an affair with another dress or something LMAO
