I have curly hair but it’s just about mid back (and this is as long as it ever gets). I am planning to do a loose side pony and wear it curly. I know this doe s not work for shoulder length hair.

My favorite updo for shoulder lenght hair is to curl 1 inch sections into loops and pin them individually onto the head, you could easily put the vail underneath and you can part the front or wear it wavy or add interest (and fight frizz) with a side twist. Pinning each curl individually is pretty time consuming and not all stylists will do this but it’s easy to do to yourself and really stays in all night with hairspray and bobbypins.

I’m looking at doing styles like these:

Last year I was MOH in my (now) MOH’s wedding and I provided similar photos to the stylist. She actually blew my hair out with a round brush and then put curls back in with a flat iron to do the style. The way she has more control over the curls. I will likely have them do this same thing for my wedding, as it turned out really well.

I’m getting a hair cut tomorrow, and I plan to ask them if they have any suggestions.  I have SUPER curly hair, and I’ve been growing it out forever, so it’s midway down my back.  And for you curly-haired girls out there, you KNOW how hard it is to get past the in-between stage!

I have chin length curly hair and I’m hoping to do something like this:

I really don’t want to over style it with lots of products. I’m hoping they can make it work with just bobby pins as I’m really picky about the products I put on my hair.

I posted the entire process of me getting my hair done over here.  You can see some nice pictures of the back of my hair toward the end.  I have curly hair but the hairstylists still always straightened it and curled it with a curling iron to make it more shiny and hold longer I guess.

Good thread! Does anyone have suggestions for hair that is even curlier than the above pictures? I’ll show you a picture of my hair:

I was thinking of wearing it mostly down, but pinning up one side with a fascinator. That’s what I usually do for formal occasions though, so it wouldn’t be too special for the big day.

I have hair a little less curly than Masala, am against blowing out/recurling on principle, and here are the pics I took to my hair person! I will make sure to post pics of my hair trial so we can all see if the look works for curlie girls like us![oh, and yes I drew on a flower on one of the pics in paint!]
