i actually like it a lot, do you think you could use a diffuser to decrease the frizz? or some type of hair product for it? i love it other than that and your flower is kick butt!!!
You have gorgeous hair! It looks beautiful half up with the flower.
Might I suggest a side part though? I have found that when I wear my hair curly it makes it look a little more tamed if I side part it and then pull it back.
I really like it!! I do think maybe the pulled down part should be lower... add some drama! ;)
@ crebre80: This was done at the end of the day, so a lot of the daily frizz was in already and the front is poofy totally because it was the third one we tried! But yeah, my goal is to style it normal (like in my e-pics) and then once all the curls are set good, my step-mom can start the process.
@ rachel_leigh: Maybe a little bit of a side part would work, kinda like the first inspiration pic? I typically do a center part, but my step-mom suggested pulling it straight back to give a little bit of volume on top, ala bump-it.
i have a lot of natural curl and peratin keeps the frizz down all day! Just don't use too much or it looks greasy.
Wow - your hair is beautiful! Love it :) I would suggest leaving a little more of it down though with a side part!
I like it, but I voted that the pulled back part should be lower, at least just a little bit.
I love it, but maybe put the back lower.
I have curly hair, just like you...but never really thought of leaving it naturally curly for my wedding. Hmmm..have to consider it!
As someone who is a slave to their curling iron, I'm jealous of your curls! But I agree with the others, I'd adjust the location the pulled back part, maybe have it start at the tops of your ears instead?
@ luli29: Why would you ever pull those babies back?! I have a ton more curly pics, send me a message and I'll send them your way.
I really hate the way I look with my hair pulled back ala pony tail. I'm a curvy girl, so I feel disproportionate when my hair is back. I have big boobs and a big butt, my hair should be big too. (It goes with my big mouth too!) I had updos for the two weddings I stood up in in 2006, and I never think that looks like me.
Wow you have lovely curls! Lucky girl. I think you should leave more down in the back to show off your ringlets!
Thanks guys!
@ hisbunny: Thanks a bunch, the e-pic shoot was a lucky really good hair day!!
oh my! I would kill for those curls! I will have to pay someone a lot of money on my wedding day to get hair like that.
But, I do agree that it should be down a little lower. Maybe even with a few light wisps out. Personally, that's my favorite part of curly hair.
PS - The color is gorgeous, by the way.

So, I knew I wanted a half up/half down do. I wanted to be able to show my natural curls, w/o having to brush them out of my face all night. And I wanted to be able to show off my DIY hair flower. What do you think of the trial run? The only thing we'll have to do differently is leave a ring of curls around the front and sides of my face, to pin back over the top of my head - so instead, you see curls on top and not frizzed out brushed mess.
Here is some inspiration:
And here is the dry run:
I am wearing a veil at church, but not at the reception. The veil is a simple fingertip length, plain edged veil I am borrowing from a BM. (Something borrowed and budget friendly!) The veil will be put in at the top of my curly monster.
