Hmmm…haven’t heard that custom change fo free at a trunk show yet, but it probably depends on the designer. I think the usual is extra length, opening the cup, extra inch in the waist, bust, hip, etc.

@ swtvt712  May i know that what is the meaning of trunk show? Is that just like sort of new arrivals conference of the designer dress? as i know that, the neckline, the bodice, the skirt and the embellishment all can be changed by the dress maker in China, but not sure the designers in your area. Thanks so much!:)

Honestly I would try to avoid this because even if a dress looks great in your mind, execution might be completely different. I cringe everytime i see this happen on ‘say yes to the dress’ lol. Also I would imagine it would be pretty costly if the designer would do it for you.

Oh and I bought my dress at a trunk show, but the individual designer was not there. How high end are you talking?

Only if the designer is there! I really wish that maggie sottero would do this. They have some amazing dresses but I want a pale silvery blue or a soft vintagey pink : (

Who is the designer you are looking at?

There was a Bee on here quite a while back that did take the top of one dress and the bottom of another and it turned out awesome! She had this done at a trunk show and had pics of her wearig the dress with the top she liked and then stuffed the bottom half of the dress into the other dress she liked the bottom of(bottom dress was folded so all you saw was the bottom. Looked great but I have no clue which bee that was!

@swtvt712  Thanks for your explaning of “trunk show” That sounds great that you may can get the alteration in your mind, and all the portions which you like from different dresses can be combined into the perfect dress.  It is easily done for the seamstresses just need to spend a little time.
