Thanks for the info! I checked out their website and will give them a call. I am looking for something functional, not fancy, and I'd prefer not to spend more than $200.
I'm open to any other suggestions so I have options!
THanks again, bgsualum!!!
I ended up finding my corset pre-made at Jenette Bras on Melrose in Los Feliz. It's a new store that caters to busty ladies. Everyone was super nice and I got exactly what I needed.
Hope this is helpful.
Oh, I just did a separate post on this same problem! I too went to Miss Stevens and they told me I would have to alter my 1500+ dress for the $80 bra they sold me, which I was a little put off by. If you figure anything out in LA, let me know!
I also went to Miss Stevens and it was not a good experience. They sold me a bra that was too big and insulted me too! It is my understanding that they are not the best at fitting bras and my experience confirmed it for me.
I looked around on the internet and found Jenette Bras. I would recommend them based on my experience, if you wear a D cup through K. Creative Woman in Monrovia (The Wizard of Bras) was also recommended to me. I did a search on Yelp.com to find different places around the area.
What I found was that at Miss Stevens they were trying on bras that were too large for me.
I was also going to try Laura's corsets in Glendale and I can't find the name but there is a place in Pasadena that's been there forever and has very good recommendations. Citysearch might also help.
I hope this helps. Let me know if you have any other quesrtions. This drove me nuts for a few weeks!
By the way, I am in the process of having my dress altered and the seamstress is going to put velcro on the bra and on the inside of the dress to keep things together.
Good luck!

Thanks - great information! I'm definitely going to try Jenette's and go from there. And, yeah, Miss Stevens wasn't so great - why do people keep recommending it to us LA brides? : )

Hi,
I am looking for someone in the Los Angeles who makes custom corset/bustiers. I don't need anything fancy, just good solid support under a strapless dress. I went to Miss Stevens in Beverly Hills, and they said I was I was too short waisted and my breasts were too heavy for a corset. They sold me a strapless bra instead but it does not give me the lift that the dress requires. I went to Miss Stevens on the recommendation of the salon that sold me the dress.
Any suggestions are much appreciated!
