Hey ladies- so I decided that I am going to go after the antique cushion cut I’ve had my heart set on. I’ve gotten a few quotes and know what setting I’ll go for, but not the center stone size. I’m a size 5.75-6 and I can’t decide if I should go for an 8×7, or an 8.5×7.5.. or something entirely different. What do you think? I want something in the 2ct range and am open to just about anything- just nothing square. I look forward to your suggestions!!

If your going with a solitaire setting then I’d probably pick the 8×7. But if your getting a halo or 3 stone ring I’d get something a little smaller, 7×6? That’s just me though! Overall I do think 8×7 and 8.5×7.5 are both great sizes regardless of the ring setting design. Can’t weight to see it!

I always go for the larger size I am considering. You will get used to it quick. 😉

I think you should always go bigger! My order from JYB just came in today, you can find some pictures in my other thread. I’ve ordered 9.5*8.5, and I don’t regret going big!

dkata81 : yours is so beautiful, what color are you having it set in? I’ve been talking to Jules about ordering one but I really like warmer stones.. i can’t decide if I should go for platinum and hope it looks warm in contrast, or yellow to add to the warmth

soontobesaint: I’m going to set it in white gold, because this stone is really not warm for my taste, and I like it that way. I have a G diamond, and it matches its color completely. If I would set it in yellow gold, it would even look whiter I think. What would add to the warmth, would be maybe rose gold, but I wouldn’t like this option.
