So I can’t decide what I want to do for our guest book, but I definitely want something different. I was thinking the best thing to do is have something for people to sign that we could display in our house somewhere (but NOT the traditional engagement picture with signed matte)… I got some inspiration from people who have done all sorts of posters, and really like the look of a vintage marriage certificate. I am pretty Illustrator and Photoshop savvy so I was thinking I could come up with something cute but I can’t find any free art online in this vein to use!!
The only thing I found that I liked at all was this: http://www.etsy.com/listing/57976639/printable-vintage-poster-guest-book-pdf But I feel like I could recreate that pretty easily.. anyone know these fonts?
Anyone have any suggestions or inspiration??? I really want it to look like a nice piece of art instead of just some poster I threw together one day with peoples names on it.

I’m not a “font” savvy kinda gal to the point that I can name fonts
BUT… have you checked out dafont.com?
I bet you could find something similar if not the same
Also, the only thing I would be concerned about on this poster (like the exact design, black print on white back) is the names, or writing of the guests blending in or covering your print in a way that doesn’t compliment it.
If that makes ANY sense at all…
Maybe “matt” the printed part with a color backing, maybe a wedding color, so the white border where the guests write is more distinguished?…

@runsyellowlites: That is an excellent idea about the matte! I have actually been obsessivley searching through dafont.com already and found a lot of great stuff. I was able to come up with a first draft and you are right all that lettering might get too busy with the signatures around it. Our colors are navy, champagne and blush pink so maybe I could find a really nice looking light gold matte.

http://new.myfonts.com/WhatTheFont/ <– you upload an image and it can tell you what the font is… supposedly. I haven’t tried it, but I think others have and it worked for them. can’t hurt, right?
