Several bees have used Peter Kruty Editions for letterpress printing: http://www.peterkrutyeditions.com/
While they were very happy with their work, some had some problems with service. They're based out of Brooklyn I believe.
Mercurio Brothers based out of California is perhaps the most affordable letterpress printer: http://www.mercuriobrothers.com/
Check out more NY area letterpress printers here: http://www.weddingbee.com/invitationsstationery/
If you're looking specifically for those types of printing, I'd recommend Sesame Letterpress for letterpress printing. If you're open to other types of printing, please feel free to check out my portfolio. I use environmentally friendly laser that gives end results very similar to themography (but at a fraction of the cost).
Some items from my shop to give you an idea of what it looks like: http://www.fubabee.com
for letterpress contact Kristin from Twin Ravens Press on etsy. Her prices are extremely reasonable and she regularly does printing only (no design).
I've used her for two projects already so if you'd like more info feel free to pm me.
This is her store on etsy
If you're still looking for a local letterpress printer, let me know. I do custom design and letterpress printing in Brooklyn: rinkaandink.com. Since i'm still "starting out" i would be open to discussing a good rate for you. Good luck with finding the right vendor for your needs!

Hi all -- my fiance designed an invitation we'd like to use for our formal invitations. (It's very simple but integrates representations of our family names -- a little bird and a mythological creature, in the border.) We're trying to find someone who can take this desing in a .psd format and turn it into an engraving, or letterpress, or themography on good card stock. Any suggestions? The wedding's in Ohio in May but my fiance and I are both in NYC. We only need about 50 invitations.
Many thanks in advance!!
