Not quite in LA but I had mine made by a designer in San Diego (so perhaps close enough for you, and as I was on the opposite coast he worked with us via skype/email/phone!).  he is not affraid to make a custom ring – he made a matching engagement ring set for me and my Fiance (that is very outside of the norm!).

This is his website for your infor:  http://www.krasnerjewelers.com/

If you work with him you will be in great hands! I am having him make both my Fiance and I wedding bands!

Good Luck!

we worked with the lim jewlery company downtown. i read about therm on here, but we kind of took a gamble, but were very pleased with their service.  their price points for custom work were excellent!

@RadiantRed:  check out SN Queens in DTLA. i’m not sure if they do custom from scratch but they must. we picked out my ring together and i got to make the changes i wanted before it went into production. silva was so lovely to work with. great prices too! very negotiable. best of luck to you!

@LionLove:  I second LD (and they have a smaller office in LA that accepts appointments). That’s where my set came from and the quality of their products is incredible. I’ve referred a few acquaintances and friends there and that majority of them ended up purchasing from them. We learned a lot about diamonds here and they are very knowledgeable, especially compared to the majority of jewelers of comparable size (so not T&Co. or Cartier).
