My Milly dress wasn't custom (I picked one off their existing line) but it came out great. The quality was really good and it was gorgeous. I didn't end up wearing it on my wedding day because it weighed a ton and the lace was itchy. In hindsight I would have requested a fabric sample and gone the more custom route. The dress was custom made to my measurements and fit like a glove! There are photos of my Milly dress in my Knot bio here. If you want more info, just PM me.

you do know that you'll be getting a knockoff that may not look very much like the original dress, right?
if you google "store of dress" and "Reviews", for instance, you'll read plenty of horror stories.
i'm sure plenty of people are satisfied with the knockoff factories.... but plenty of people are not at all satisfied.
there are some comments elsewhere on weddingbee, with people describing their Chinese-knockoff-factory experience.
if i were you i'd consider getting a knockoff made closer to home, at least -- a seamstress or one of the US knockoff shops, which might at least be easier to communicate with or return things to...?
One additional thing to point out: a lot of the Chinese sites only feature photos from the dress designer's website. One that springs to mind is Light in The Box. Some people have had a wonderful experience with that site. Others? Not so much. That's why I went with Milly, all the photos on their site are theirs. If they knock off a dress, they have photos of THEIR knock-off, not what the picture from the dress designer-so you really have no idea what you're getting. I'm not going to lie, I was nervous about what I was going to get, but I was very impressed with the quality of my dress.
budgetbeautiful>> thanks for the info! It helps to see photos on how it all came out :) It's too bad that you ended up buying another dress. I'm not planning on getting too much lace or beading, so hopefully Milly will be able to come up with something good.
sleepylittlesailor>> thanks for the advice. I saw only 2 reviews of people that actually bought from the store - one good and one bad. I guess that's not a great % to go on. I did email them to have them send actual photos of the dress, so we'll see what they send back.
The only littlecoral "reviews" I have seen on this site have all been spam.
My Milly dress turned out great! Sorry I don't have any pictures though. They based the dress of this Vera Wang I had fallen in love with.
chelsea>> thx for the info. I was hoping it was legit, cuz the $$ would be so worth it!
Miss sapphire>> Oh I'm glad it turned out well for you! have you worn the dress yet? Was the boning pretty good in the dress?
jyng>> Yes, I've heard of reviews, but they're a bit hard to find. There is a Peridress thread on this site though. I was looking into buying from them too.
Casablanca will customize the dress for you. I've seen them do all sorts of amazing changes, including taking the top of one dress and putting it on the skirt of another. I don't know if budget is the primary concern, but if you can afford to do the changes through the company do that. Any authorized retailer should be able to tel you about the changes. If one near you won't, I know a good shop that will, except it is CA based. :-)
Hi Phannie,
Yes, I saw them mentioned a couple of times, but nothing too positive! So far they have been really responsive to my questions. I am just nervous because of the bad reviews. Not sure what to do!
Maisy>> oh i didn't know that they would make that kind of change! But what I want to do is nothing like what they already have. It's a very specific pleating - It's not hard to do, but I wonder if they would do something completely different than what they have in their line. thanks for the info though! What is the shop in CA? My wedding will be in CA (Bay area).
Jyng>> here's the thread on peridress. There were 2 people that posted pictures and had good reviews http://boards.weddingbee.com/topic/ordered-from-peridress-1
My wedding isn't until January but the couple times I put it on, the boning looks and is helping everything stay in place perfectly.
And my dress was Nothing like what Milly had on their site.
Miss sapphire>> thanks for the info. please post pictures once the wedding's over, we'd love to see them :)
Ok you guys! I'm doing it. I was able to negotiate a better price with Milly (didn't even think I could negotiate it!) so I'll be doing BOTH dresses - the wedding dress and the short reception dress.
I'll let you guys know how it turns out :-P
*wish me luck*
Ok so here I am freaking out because my wedding is in March 6 2010 and still dont have my dress... Im want the davids bridal style ch 515 but i cant afford it ... i have been searching for the custom made dress companies... perdress has never made it but they said they do pretty much anything ... then there is sallyweddingdress.com and they told me that they have done this dress before... now I read all the blogs and i was able to notice that Milly is pretty much known. Has anyone heard about sallywedding dress and if so let me know what you think ?? I want to buy my dress ASAP !!!! help me
thanks
MsMacu: The only think I know about sallyweddingdress.com is that they post a ton on this site. Everytime you post on the boards or the classifieds that you're looking for a certain dress, they'll msg you to say they can make it. I haven't seen any reviews on them, really. I went with Milly because when I contacted them, they could speak english pretty well and always replied promptly. I also liked how they did their lining and boning - better quality that the other cheaper sites.
Here is pre-owned and way cheaper than the original Might want to check it out:

thanks for your feedback phannie. Im shootting towards milly, they send the price $445.00 including the shipping .. thats a great price !! I was able to chat with them and they were accurate, they answered every question I had. Now i want to ask you this, they told me that they send pictures of every step before they send it .. did they do that to you? also is it possible for you to send me a picture of your dress if you have it already ? it will help me feel better :-) thanksss

Hello all!
I was hoping that someone has bought from www.storeofdress.com, www.littlecoral.com or www.millybridal.com
Store of dress: I was checking out their site and their reviews - seems pretty legit. I haven't checked with the BBB about them, but they seem to reply to all the reviews/questions that are posted on their site.
Littlecoral: Haven't seen many ppl buy from the on the Bee, but noticed a few ppl mention them. No pix of final results though.
Milly: great reviews, but haven't seen photos of final results yet either.
Store of dress has 2 dresses that I want -
1) Romona Keveza: short dress w/ ruffle detail - it's the back that I adore!
2) Casablanca dress: Love the detail on the bottom, but dislike the beading at the empire waist. I want to customize the empire area a bit, which is why I'd like to see if this chinese company is legit.
I've heard of good things about jeffliu8000 from ebay, MillyBridal, and also a little bit about Littlecoral.com. I've been stalking their pages for awhile, but haven't seen anything that's exactly like I want.
I want to use these dresses as inspiration and change a few things to make it more "me."
Please let me know what you've heard and if you've bought from them! thanks!
