    Hello all!

I was hoping that someone has bought from www.storeofdress.com, www.littlecoral.com or www.millybridal.com

Store of dress: I was checking out their site and their reviews - seems pretty legit. I haven't checked with the BBB about them, but they seem to reply to all the reviews/questions that are posted on their site.

Littlecoral: Haven't seen many ppl buy from the on the Bee, but noticed a few ppl mention them. No pix of final results though.

Milly: great reviews, but haven't seen photos of final results yet either.

Store of dress has 2 dresses that I want -

    1) Romona Keveza: short dress w/ ruffle detail - it's the back that I adore!

    2) Casablanca dress: Love the detail on the bottom, but dislike the beading at the empire waist. I want to customize the empire area a bit, which is why I'd like to see if this chinese company is legit.

I've heard of good things about jeffliu8000 from ebay, MillyBridal, and also a little bit about Littlecoral.com. I've been stalking their pages for awhile, but haven't seen anything that's exactly like I want.

I want to use these dresses as inspiration and change a few things to make it more "me."

Please let me know what you've heard and if you've bought from them! thanks!

My Milly dress wasn't custom (I picked one off their existing line) but it came out great. The quality was really good and it was gorgeous. I didn't end up wearing it on my wedding day because it weighed a ton and the lace was itchy. In hindsight I would have requested a fabric sample and gone the more custom route. The dress was custom made to my measurements and fit like a glove! There are photos of my Milly dress in my Knot bio here. If you want more info, just PM me.

you do know that you'll be getting a knockoff that may not look very much like the original dress, right?

if you google "store of dress" and "Reviews", for instance, you'll read plenty of horror stories.

i'm sure plenty of people are satisfied with the knockoff factories.... but plenty of people are not at all satisfied.

there are some comments elsewhere on weddingbee, with people describing their Chinese-knockoff-factory experience.

if i were you i'd consider getting a knockoff made closer to home, at least -- a seamstress or one of the US knockoff shops, which might at least be easier to communicate with or return things to...?

One additional thing to point out: a lot of the Chinese sites only feature photos from the dress designer's website. One that springs to mind is Light in The Box. Some people have had a wonderful experience with that site. Others? Not so much. That's why I went with Milly, all the photos on their site are theirs. If they knock off a dress, they have photos of THEIR knock-off, not what the picture from the dress designer-so you really have no idea what you're getting. I'm not going to lie, I was nervous about what I was going to get, but I was very impressed with the quality of my dress.

budgetbeautiful>> thanks for the info! It helps to see photos on how it all came out :) It's too bad that you ended up buying another dress. I'm not planning on getting too much lace or beading, so hopefully Milly will be able to come up with something good.

sleepylittlesailor>> thanks for the advice. I saw only 2 reviews of people that actually bought from the store - one good and one bad. I guess that's not a great % to go on. I did email them to have them send actual photos of the dress, so we'll see what they send back.

My Milly dress turned out great! Sorry I don't have any pictures though. They based the dress of this Vera Wang I had fallen in love with.

Casablanca will customize the dress for you. I've seen them do all sorts of amazing changes, including taking the top of one dress and putting it on the skirt of another. I don't know if budget is the primary concern, but if you can afford to do the changes through the company do that.  Any authorized retailer should be able to tel you about the changes.  If one near you won't, I know a good shop that will, except it is CA based.  :-)

    Hi Phannie,

Yes, I saw them mentioned a couple of times, but nothing too positive! So far they have been really responsive to my questions. I am just nervous because of the bad reviews. Not sure what to do!

Maisy>> oh i didn't know that they would make that kind of change! But what I want to do is nothing like what they already have. It's a very specific pleating - It's not hard to do, but I wonder if they would do something completely different than what they have in their line. thanks for the info though! What is the shop in CA? My wedding will be in CA (Bay area).

Jyng>> here's the thread on peridress. There were 2 people that posted pictures and had good reviews http://boards.weddingbee.com/topic/ordered-from-peridress-1

My wedding isn't until January but the couple times I put it on, the boning looks and is helping everything stay in place perfectly.

And my dress was Nothing like what Milly had on their site.

Ok you guys! I'm doing it. I was able to negotiate a better price with Milly (didn't even think I could negotiate it!) so I'll be doing BOTH dresses - the wedding dress and the short reception dress.

I'll let you guys know how it turns out :-P

    *wish me luck*

MsMacu: The only think I know about sallyweddingdress.com is that they post a ton on this site. Everytime you post on the boards or the classifieds that you're looking for a certain dress, they'll msg you to say they can make it. I haven't seen any reviews on them, really. I went with Milly because when I contacted them, they could speak english pretty well and always replied promptly. I also liked how they did their lining and boning - better quality that the other cheaper sites.

Here is pre-owned and way cheaper than the original Might want to check it out:

MsMacu - I haven't gotten to that step yet, but I will definitely post them on this thread when I do. From the others that I have seen, they do send you photos as they progress. First of the form of the dress and then later before the details are added so you can approve of them.

Since I haven't decided on the color of the dress quite yet, they said they could get started on creating the form/outline of it first. I also wanted to make sure that the beaded lace they use is something that I'd like, so they said they would take photos of it before sewing them on.

They have just confirmed the details of my short dress (the Romona Keveza) yesterday through email. Once everything is ironed out and they don't have any questions, they'll begin. I think they should be starting in a couple of days. I'll let you know how it goes.

I bought my dress from Little Coral. Overall I was happy with the dress. But the customer service after the dress was delivered was NOT acceptable. The dress has a rip in the satin on the bodice and they refuse to correct it. It looks like something happened to the dress in shipping because it wasn't well wrapped and only insured for $10.

dgil>> oh no! is it fixable or are you going to get another dress? That's horrible to have happenend - insured for $10?? what's the point in that?

I decided to go with Milly...things were going well but they've become so popular that they've changed their ETA from end of January until april. Totally frustrated with that, as my wedding is in April.

    Hi all,

Yes I got my dress, but it was SUPER Delayed. It was ridiculous, really.

The dress had Ok quality - everyone said it was beautiful, but b/c I had customized details to my specifications I was disappointed in the details. They were not good at time management at all and rushed through the dress. I got it ONE WEEK before my wedding.

I ordered the dress in Nov, was supposed to receive at the end of Jan, but didn't get it until APRIL. Yes..that's right - APRIL. Milly got so popular that they couldn't handle the overload. So many brides have cancelled their order b/c of the delays.

This is the dress right out of the DHL package. So it hadn't been altered, steamed or anything yet.

I had my seamstress do a lot of work to it. It wasn't mermaid style as I had wanted and continually asked for. Also, there was a lack of boning - almost non existent. Also, they had made the chest area SUPER HUGE.

I would recommend trying Dressilyme.com They've gotten good reviews so far.

I'll eventually sell this dress - probably in November if any one is interested. Once the alterations were done, the dress was beautiful and everyone loved it.

Hi Sophie - good luck w/ milly. They've been super bad about due dates, so I hope you told them you needed your dress at least a month before your wedding. Their customer service has gone downhill lots since I bought mine - and even then they were a hassle to deal with. Let me know if you have any questions.

btw - try dressilyme.com - many brides have found them to be cheaper than Milly but still very good. They don't take photos of the dresses as they're made, but they seem to do a pretty decent job

    @Phannie:

    @crown520:

I had the opportunity to purchase  a dress from SOD yesterday that they were offering at a " Name Your Own Price" sale. I felt this was a great opportunity to check out their quality at a lesser investment. Not cheap, just less. They renigged on it. I was planning to order more regular priced gowns and accessories for my daughter's wedding. Now I am on the fence about doing any business with them at all.

I had seen these "Name Your Own Price" sales listed before on their site but never acted on any.

Their customer service was prompt to say it never existed, even though I  printed out a copy of the payment page as I always do when I order online. They wanted to know if I would like to go ahead and pay full price. I politely responded saying no thank-you, but would like them to honor the original sale/purchase. I have heard nothing back since.

Have any of you had any of these "deals" with them?

I definitely don't want to be swindled, but I also don't want to pay a fortune. I bought my dream Audrey Hepburn style dress for the ceremony, but my FI pointed out that I wouldn't be able to dance, and I concur! I especially couldn't play him his surprise song during the reception. Could you imagine trying to fit a guitar in front of this huge ball gown? haha.

I'm seriously debating just taking a chance. If it works out, great. If not, I'm really only out 200 dollars, and will take it from my excess videography budget ( I'm a filmmaker, and he's a photographer so most of our budget went there...).

Yeesh, if mothers told daughters how stressful planning a wedding really is, I think there'd be a lot more single ladies. :p

HAS ANYONE BOUGHT OFF STORE OF DRESS?

I bought my dress from SOD and I paid the 20% to have it here in 20 business days. That was March 31st and I have yet to see a dress. I called numerous times and no one called me back. I finally get an email response back that says:

    Dear Friend,

Oh , I'm sorry about this! We really want to send a perfect dress to you , so there's a little delay!
When you get the dress , we will refund the rush delivery fee!
Thanks and wait for your response.

    best regards,
    Kate

So i have NO IDEA what to expect right now?! I'm not sure if I'm ever going to receive this dress?! or if this website is a hoax?! Anyone who has bought from this store, please respond with your input! I'm debating whether or not to call my credit card company...

DO NOT EVER TRUST THIS WEBSITE!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Girls, trust me, I am the victim and this is still an open case on my Paypal resolution centre! My recent full story as below:Custom-made dresses : Did you buy from Store of Dress, Little Coral or Milly? : wedding store of dress china custom made chinese dressmaker milly bridal little coral dressilyme sodcom storeofdresscom store of dress review sod review Back Left

I placed the order and cleared the payment via Paypal on the 27th March 2011, I paid 10% extra for the rush delivery within a month, and I did ask you before how long does the dress take, I have been told by Kate via email that if paid extra for the rush delivery, eg. a month, it will arrive within a month. Unfortunately, this dress did not arrived by the promised time, even after several attempts made chasing the seller, I have been given a DHL tracking number 5001356194(DHL) on the 5th May( the date they actually post it but never ever mention it) which produced no results found for the item I ordered even by the 8th May, and it was already 11 days after the product I ordered was due to arrive, even taking into account the UK bank holiday's delayed post, I would have expected to receive my item by the end of April. By the 7th May I still haven’t received my dress and I have to leave UK within 2 weeks, so I was extremely stressed because no dress arrived, order was not traceable, no matter what time I attempted to get through the customer service’s telephone number, it was always voice mail and they just kept telling me to check that tracking number. Due to my wedding day is approaching, in order to make sure I will definitely have a wedding dress before I leave the UK, most importantly to have it on the wedding day, I have had to placed a rush order for a another wedding dress in 2 weeks. Due to the fact that I only have less than 2 weeks to get it ready, no local wedding dressmakers can meet the deadline, but I found a wedding dress shop in the village of Cookham which is located 80 miles away from where I live and I have to drive 1.5 hours (without traffic) at least twice to meet the dress maker in order to alter to my size; Finally, for the dress I ordered from Store of dress finally arrived on 10th May, the dress is terrible made and quality was not worth of $415.90, I couldn't believe there is a blue ball pen stripe mark on the top back of the dress, the pearls keep falling off when I tried the dress on, the lace and net quality are substandard, even worse than my net curtain, the local fabric shop's lace quality is even better, the left side of the lace is not even stitched up properly, when I put on the dress, the front lace on both shoulder straps look obviously broken and not stitched up, and they do not look strong enough to hold the weight of the wedding dress. To be honest to all, even I had to pay £800 ($1298) to get another dress from the wedding dress shop, I felt confident about myself, once a time for the big day, which bride doesn't want to make herself look the best?? secondly, I have no choice, I was already lucky to get a genuine Sophia Tolli dress altering to my size 6 within 2 weeks; Last not the least, it is really too embarrassed to wear the dress I ordered from STORE OF DRESS!! Don’t do what I have done, it will be absolutely waste of your money!!
