The above is a link to actual gowns Duesheng has made.  They’re pretty good in price (from my asking about a dress that would have to be completley custom-made from a photo).  I think you’d have to inquire as to the price of their gowns, but not sure.

They also have had REALLY good reviews on here and on another site (can’t remember the name or link, but it was about destination weddings and trash-the-dress dresses).

hope that helps!!!!

Here are all 3 of my experiences with custom dresses.

The same dress as the second but came out horribly. 1st it was Chinese New Year. I think they were careless. Also my order wasn’t completed as I had asked.

How many of you would buy from a company only if you saw at least some of the dresses that that company actually made but not the remake of the dress that you have chosen?

To answer your questions above. The aprilsbridal dress I purchased was only after reading a few reviews.

The last two dresses I purchased was after reading several reviews. I will say that dressilyme is more known to do the dresses on their site and it seems they have a proccess elimination for their dresses that are chosen for custom designs.

I have see a few brides turned away from a custom and directed toward their site as a reference for a similar style. However, if they do accept your custom design they do wonderful work and take good care of their customers.

How many of you would only buy if you could see the actual dress that you have chosen made by the company so you know exactly what it will look like before they even start making it for you?

I requested similar images from dressilyme and other companies to test their workmanship. Then I decided to order after weeks of emails about their designs.

I originally wanted to go with Milly’s bridal but had a little trouble accessing their site for about a week so I couldn’t order. I am a bit happy though because Mily’s quoted me $450 (which is still cheaper than the original $2,000). However I now have two dresses for $450 from dressilyme and they make the same quality work.

I will say that Milly’s is more accepting of custom orders and they have other materials like swavorski crystals, which dressilyme doesn’t have.

I also looked into coralsbridal but couldn’t see a difference in quality or value so that was my reason for going with dressilyme.

I will say that it looks like Jasmines and Landys do excellent work.

i have only seen one or two orders recently from Duosheng and it seems like they did a fabulous job. I suppose it still would be hard to judge if I didn’t see many reviews.

mybigfatbeautifulwedding.com does great work and I love how you can see their pics!

Simply.love from ebay recently had great reviews and customer service. However, so far I have only seen two brides with the same design from their site. May they have more reviews online.

Monicasbridal and babyonline are on the dhgate and I hear good things but if you read the long destinations bridal thread you will see some good and some bad. So I am not 100% sold on either one being better than any of the recommeneded above.

So thats about all that I think are doing well for now. Tough choices!!!! But it seems like with this list it isn’t so much of a hit or miss. It all depends on the actual style you are going for as well as the relationship you develop with the dressmaker/customer service representatives.

@USAandKSA:

Glad there are more dresses out there. Do you have a link for their site? I want to see what they look like.

I agree w/ @adw2c.  Through her experience, I decided to get my reception/afterparty dress made from Duosheng.  I decided to go w/ them because I researched several boards and liked what I saw.  I noticed a # of Aussie and European brides had purchased via Duosheng. Plus Duosheng had the 2 dresses that I wanted to merge into my afterparty dress. Only 2 more weeks before I get my dress.  Yeah!!!

Do check out bestdestinationwedding.com Knockoff thread.  A ton of Canadian Brides have used MonicasBridal and Babyonline and they show pictures of their final work.

Also Projectwedding has forums for Dressilyme and Milly Bridal.

Good Luck!!!!

I have just talked about my experience with Bling Dress with grace

http://boards.weddingbee.com/topic/im-in-love-with-vera-wang-ethel

I’m really happy with the work and the money I paid. I think it’s pretty close to what I wanted. She was the only person I could find that actually had a picture of what she had made herself for the style of dress I was after- everyone else had the catwalk model vera wang picture. Having said that it turned out a little differently to the one she had on her manquin but overall it is so very close I don’t mind.  I’m short and the dress is made to meaure, it has good fabric and instead of being $6k was $400. It took her 6.5 weeks to get it to me (some bridal shops said it would be 3 months). I now have something that I will either wear or might get a few things altered to get it that much closer to the vera.

Hope that helps you- please contact me if you have any questions 🙂
