I have dreams of stumbling upon a vintage victorian ring one of these days but I just don’t know if I’m patient (read: spendy) enough…
I was thinking about getting it made out of moissanite…?
Do you know any jewellers or companies that custom make moissanite sets?
I would like a replica of this 1900s beauty made:
Any help or direction would be MUCH appreciated!

@KimmySumShuga: Hi there! I’m sure it’s do-able 🙂 I can totally recommend Joseph Schubach jewelers as well as Rosados Box (Etsy). I’ve heard good things about Amcor and David Klass as well! Good luck 🙂

@KimmySumShuga: I’d also recommend Schubach’s. I’m having a custom moissanite ring made by them as we speak. Beth has been such a pleasure to work with, and they have amazing craftsmanship.

I had the ring above which is moissanite/diamond made by Caysie from Etsy, she is excellent, fair and can replicate anything! She is much more reasonable than Schubach’s. She is also the AGTA (The Oscar’s of jewelry) third place winner for 2013. She was also last weeks “Jewel of the Week” for a vintage sapphire replicated ring on the website PRICESCOPE. Check her out and tell here that Raye sent you;)

Sorry I have no recommendations but just really wanted to say that ring is super gorgeous! Definitely update us later if you get it made. I might want one too lol.

Moissaniteco has this one which looks similar. They might be able to alter it to get closer to what you’re looking for.
I was eyeing this one when I was looking at different styles. The ring you’re looking to get replicated is absolutely gorgeous!
Good luck! 🙂

I’m currently in the process of having a custom, all moissanite ring made. We went through our family jeweler thats in south eastern Minnesota, and he’s been very helpful, not to mention the stones are beautiful!
We’re having it made to look similar to this.
We’ve ordered in a total of 11 stones, I’m not sure the total carat weight, but the center stone is 1 ct. We’re having it set in rose gold and the total cost for the entire thing is $1300.
I would definatley go into your local jeweler to discuss options. Most can do anything you’d ever want for a ring, and I’ve found out that honestly, custom is the way to go. You get EXACTLY what you want, and not to mention, I feel its less expensive because you’re not having to pay for the “name” that is printed on the band. Good Luck!

We ordered my custom moissanite ring from Rosado’s Box on etsy. I’m in love with it and Shirley was a breeze to work with. We paid a small free to rush the order and it actually shipped a full day sooner than even the rush estimate.

@FutureDrAtkins: ooo thanks for all the suggestions!
@Saria213: Great! Thanks for your suggesting Schubach’s – Seems like a reputable jeweller!
@Bubblesmcgee: oooo your ring is GORGEOUS! Is that Cushion cut? What are the specs on your stone if you don’t mind me asking? I’ve never seen a moissy in person so I’m not sure what to ask for!
@Katie918: WOW your stones are gorgeous and that price is AMAZING! Would you mind sharing your jeweller’s info? Maybe he wouldn’t mind shipping/etc as I think my CA prices (and tax!) will probably be more than that…
@jennnin: ooo yes I’ve heard of Moissanite & co! Thanks for reminding me and for the link!
@teaberrie: Right?! Isn’t it dreamy?! I have never seen one like it in person so I’m doubtful to find it in-store… thats why I wanna go the custom route! I’ll keep you posted for sure!
@Periwinkletala: Wooo thank you for all the details on your jeweller! I love etsy! and Oh my, your ring is amazing! I sooo love cushion cuts! Would you mind sharing the specs of your stones?

It’s a 6.5 mm cushion cut Forever Brilliant moissanite. Because different cuts have different proportiones, the same face-up width in different shapes will be different carat equivalents, if that makes any sense- a 6.5 mm round moissanite is equivalent to an approximately 1 carat diamond, while a 6.5 mm widge cushion cut is equivalent to about a 1.3 carat diamond.
It’s a FB which is the whiter of the available moissanites, but it does have some color to it- I’ve read various comparisons of color but it’s in the near-colorless range. I went to a very high-end jeweler to try on rings for size and style in person before I ordered and although I could tell the difference between the colorless and near-colorless diamonds, I actually liked the look of slightly warmer stones better, so the moissanite having some warmth to it is nice. It is more like a warmth to the clearness, rather than a colored stone (I’ve heard people describe it as yellow but it’s nothing like a yellow diamond or a topaz- and I’ve heard gray which I don’t see at all).
And the fire. Oh my goodness does it have fire. In bright sunlight it’s almost clear and scintillates a lot (that’s the little white flashes of light) but in dimmer lighting, it just goes wild with color. I get distracted by the rainbows. I’ve owned diamond and gemstone jewelry before this and this is by far the most beautiful gem I’ve ever owned.

Thank you, so very much:)
I am having her make me another moissanite ring– I cannot wait.

Thank you, for the complement:) I am having Caysie make me another moissanite ring, but it will be a 3 stone ring.
My ring is an:
7 mm Grey Cushion moissanite- unenhanced, but it really outshines any FB that size;) My moissanite is equivelent to a 1.66 carat diamond.

Joseph Schubach Jewelers does amazing custom rings with moissanite. I have worked with them many times. Look them up on YouTube.
