I’m in the process right now,  ring is in production.  I’ll show you the first CAD and then the approved CAD with changes.  But,  I don’t have the ring yet.  I’m trying to be patient,  but it’s so hard! (Top CAD is now being made!)

The CADs took about 48 hours or so. Plus a ton of emails back and forth between the first and second one.  Now they say it will be about a week for molds to be made, then a week for setting,  etc.

What was surprising to me was being so sure I knew what I wanted but then the CAD was ridiculous. I quickly saw that I needed to rethink my plan. Take your time looking at the first CAD to make sure there’s nothing you want to change.

JayCie:  I’ve been working with a jeweler online and have gotten a few pictures of the process. The ring should be done this week!

Heres the pictures I’ve gotten so far, it’s crazy what goes into making jewelry

JayCie:  I was too excited when we went to check out the wax mold and I didn’t take a picture of that, but attached are the mock ups. The prongs will be filed down and curved down to close on the diamond, of course, but everything else looks even better on the mold than it did in the picture. It was so ridiculously detailed! I wanted a mix between vintage and contemporary, so I went with a cushion cut, halo and then an intricate basket and filigree on the setting.

I have just recieved a mold of my wedding band and I am so nervous to order my ring!! It is so hard to tell with the mold! I needed to get the band custom because my prongs stick out a bit and no band would sit flush without a bend in it. So they designed my ring to have a slight bend, which doesn’t look bad with the mold but I am still so nervous! This is what I am looking to get made but in rose gold with pink sapphires instead of blue.

Here are a few photos of my wax. Sorry I don’t have any photos of the ring, cause like I said I haven’t ordered it yet! eeek! lol

That’s how my design changed over the 4 CADS.

I LOVE my ring and the whole process was so fantastic. I think the whole thing took about two months. The only reason it took so long was because my designer had a few other rings he was working on at the same time.

Here is my inspiration ring:

This is what we got back. I wanted to do white gold with a sapphire ring to match my husband’s diamond and sapphire band.

And the final product!
