My goodness! I have never seen a ring like that one ! I love the heart scroll detail !! You said you were gonna have it done with a different stone, so that already makes it unique ! What is your usual style ? Of all the options in your poll which ones are more "you" ?
I think I would like a blue sapphire flanked with white sapphires.
That way it will be a lot less expensive too. Maybe adding more detail will be doing too much? I am so indecisive! Thanks for everyone's help so far!
Margerator, I wanted to comment on the idea of white sapphires. I'm a Jeweler, and this idea has come up a lot when my brides are trying to save money.
White Sapphires get dirty quickly and don't look anything but cloudy most of the time. I bend over backwards to get people to avoid this choice. When I run into married women who have white sapphires they are delighted to trade them out for white diamonds which sparkle even when dirty. Diamonds are just awesome like that.
If the place that is selling that ring is not willing to help you with a center blue sapphire, you could have a similar design custom made and choose your own gemstones.
I wish you the best of luck, the scroll work is simple and beautiful!
Just looking at the ring again I realized it also kinda looks like 2 birds kissing :)
I voted KEEP THE SAME & OTHER:
The only thing would even think to do is add a knife edge band instead of the band it has. Check out deathbydesign's ring...she has a knife edged band on her e-ring and a knife edged band as her wedding band. Tiffany's has one too:

But seriously that ring is beauitful & needs nothing to ruin help it. Congrats!

Well, he hasn't yet proposed, but we decided to start thinking about designing my ring, and I am really excited! I have only found one setting that I really like from Topazery.com, but I want a sapphire in the center instead. Topazery said that they could only offer it with the diamonds, but it's way to expensive that way and I really only love the design on the bezel area so I am going to use this as inspiration for my own custom ring! :) What do you think of the setting? I really like antique/filigree/carved designs/etc. and I am thinking of taking the heart scroll design from the ring I found at http://www.topazery.com/antique-jewelry-item-rg3116.htm and incorporating it with shank detail of my own. The only problem is that I also love the simplicity of the original design and don't want to add so much that it overwhelms the elegance of it, but I also don't think I want to just copy someone else since we are going the custom route! Any design ideas? I will do a poll with what I have thought of so you can help me out! Thank you all! You can also find the ring if you go to topazery.com and search heart scroll.
