Has anyone tried to create their own custom rubber stamp? I’ve got some extra space on our invitations that I really think a stamp could fit nicely in.
Where did you get it?
Will I need to be a computer expert to do it myself?
Any information/ideas will be helpful.

Hi, I’ve never done custom stamps before. That being said, I work at Hobby Lobby, so I know they carry block printing materials by Speedball which allows you to make your own stamp. I was actually thinking of using a little kit we carry which is about $10 and it had 2- 2″ circular carving pads, a carving knive and 3 blades and the holder for the carving pads. I just tried to find it online, but it’s not available there, you’d have to check the store. They also have replacement carving pads just in case 🙂 and a ton of different inks you can use, although you should be able to use just about any paint/ink pad. With that, you’d be able to use transfer paper and transfer your image onto the carving pad and go from there, so you wouldn’t have to do it free-hand.

I had a custom stamp made at Acme Stamp in Dallas for about $17 for 2″ x 2.” The cost is done by size.

I’ve gotten a couple done at http://rubberstamps.net/ that came out really nice. One was an address stamp, and the other was from a vector image. Depending on the size, they’re pretty cheap. I think $15-ish for the address stamp (roughly 3″ x 1.5″ I think) and then the other was like $10 (roughly 1.5″ x 1″).

lovetocreatestamps on Etsy is wonderful! I got 2 stamps from them. One I’ve been using on thank you notes and other things… the other is for our return address on envelopes. Easy to deal with and does custom orders. Send you proofs before they make the stamp. Their stamps are on beautiful wooden handles too. Check it out!
My stamps were around $20 a piece. Good luck! Below is what we had on one stamp 🙂 (sorry it’s so big)
