Hi everyone! My boyfriend and I have been working with Peoples to design a custom setting for an enhanced/coated pink diamond we bought through them a few months ago. It was a long process with a lot of back and forth and minor tweaks and changes, but I think we’ve finally got it perfect! I wanted a double halo and a lot of sparkly micro pave – that was the easy part. I wanted a more rounded band with no edges or milgrain, but I also wanted a small “v” near the top of the band. Not a traditional split shank that’s visible on the finger from the top, just a slight v attaching to the halos that’s visible from the side. It took awhile to get the exact look I wanted, but they sent me some updated images today and I think I’m ready to say it’s perfect! Now it’s up to my man to give them the go ahead, and hopefully start planning a way to surprise me! We haven’t told many people that we’re designing a ring since we aren’t actually engaged yet… So I’m finding it a little hard to contain my excitement and not start showing the pictures to everyone I know lol, so I thought I would post it here and see what you ladies think! Now to try and be patient, which is not something I’m very good at. Can’t wait to get this baby on my finger!

I love the double halo cushion setting with a round stone ( that’s my personal favorite setting) and I love your personal touches. The pink diamond is amazing. I love it. Good luck with the rest of the process.

Wow that looks like it’s going to be stunning. Even better with the pink diamond center!

Wow!!! I love it… Reminds me so much of the Tiffany Soleste setting that I also love!

Thanks ladies! I hadn’t realized how much work customizing a setting would be and how long it would take, but seeing the pictures in front of me finally look exactly the same as the image in my head is making it all worth while!
whattobee: I was initially disappointed that the pink diamonds were only available in round, I had had my heart set on a cushion diamond in a cushion halo. I did a lot of searching on weddingbee for other ladies with round diamonds in a cushion halo setting before committing. Once I did and saw how awesome it looks, I was sold and now couldn’t imagine it any other way!

JLo84: I actually did not know that pink diamonds were only round. I guess you learn something new everyday. the contrast of the pink center stone with white diamonds in the halo will look amazing either way. I’m looking forward to seeing the final product and hearing about your proposal.

Thanks ladies! I hope I don’t have to wait too long to share a proposal story 🙂 It takes them about a month to make it once they get the go ahead and then I’m sure my honey will keep me in suspense a little while, but hopefully not too long. He’s equally as excited about the unique pink diamond and our custom setting, he’s looking forward to showing it off as much as I am I think!
whattobee: Natural pink diamonds are available in all shapes and sizes, but given that most of them are hundreds of thousands of dollars they were way way way out of our reach! I too was surprised that the enhanced/coated pink diamonds were only available as round. I asked the jeweler about it when we first started looking and it sounds like it’s because there’s relatively little demand for the non natural pink diamonds so they go with the most common shape! I was worried if they were eventually available in cushion cuts I would have buyers remorse about my round… But after seeing how awesome rounds look in cushion halos and seeing our diamond in person for the first time a few months ago, I’m totally in love with my pink round sparkler, no regrets!
