do you have a hosting service WITH your domain? cause if that's the case It's really easy and you just need to upload a .php file that points to your mywedding.com page.
If you dont know how to do that send me a message and I can do the .php file for you ;) so you can just upload that to your server.
hope that helps
As far as I can tell, mywedding doesn't support personal domain names. If you want to keep your mywedding site AND use your domain then you have 2 options.
1 - Set up a DNS redirect/forwarding. You can do this where you bought your domain. In this case, when someone types in your domain name they get forwarded to your mywedding site, but the address in the address bar will not stay as your domain.
2 - Set up a frame. To do this you will need a hosting account somewhere (likely where you bought your domain), so this will cost more money in the long run. This is similar to the php solution mentioned above, but is actually much easier and makes more sense. In this case you just need to have a simple html file in your hosting account which displays your website. It basically becomes a website within a website, but it means that your personal domain name will remain in the address bar of browsers.
There is a third option, but in your case it may not make sense. That option would be to switch to another website service which actually does support using your own domain name (momentville.com, weebly.com, etc)
Thank you SO much for your replies!
So, I didnt purchase a hosting plan with this URL, though I do have a hosting plan with them for my personal portfoilio (another URL I have with them, everything is managaed from the same account), so I'm not sure if that gives me any flexibility at all in terms of the frame or php options.
I'm including a screen grab of how it looks ofrom my control pane, I'm a little confused because it does say "fully hosted," and has the same options (webftp, ftp) as my other site which i do having hosting for.
Ideally, I'd like to figure out an option more like the frame or php, though only if i can arrange it with the hosting plan i already have, as i dont want to pay for hosting again. I've figured out the redirect in the meantime, which will be an okay solution too if its the best i can do.
My last question is about "cloaking" I see theres an option in my control panel to cloak a website which sounds just like a redirect but without changing the address bar url. I've attached a screen grab of that option as well. Anyone have a better idea of what this is?
Thanks again for all the help ladies! I appreciate it remendously!
Miss Snapdragon had a post that talked all about redirecting and masking with a mywedding.com website, but was with GoDaddy.com, I think. You might want to check out her previous post using the search feature-- perhaps that will help?
i did it! thanks girls! with all your inout, a llot of tinkering and waiting for my hosting service to "propogate," i've managed to figure out how to "mask" or "cloak" my mywedding.com site with my own personal URL!
now its just a matter of finding the time to fill the site with actual information!
thanks again!

Hi there!
So i think I may have made a mistake. One of the first things i did when we got engaged was purchase our own URL so tht we could use it for our wedding website. And put that url on our save the date magnetswithout actually building the site yet.
Well now its time to start getting these STDs in the mail and I still dont have a site live for our url! I made a mywedding.com webpage, but don't know how to use our url with it. I know how to physically "point the DNS to another IP" from my hosting service, but dont know exactly what that means or if it will work with mywedding.com, though I have seen a few brides here and there mention they've used their own url with mywedding.com.
Any web saavy bees out there that can help me out? I really do like the mywedding.com templates and I really don't want to have to pay for another wedding site just so I can use my url!
