I think 14 is a little old for a kids meal. I am planning on cutting the kids meals off at 10. I think anyone older should have a regular meal.
Does your venue have an age? Mine was 10 or 12 but we are not having kids so it didnt matter to us.
At our venue the cut off age is 12, so I would check!! At 14 I would have really wanted an adult meal though. I think any of the kids older than 12 should get a regular meal.
Yeah, mine is 12. I don't know, I'm still on the fence about kids. Went to a wedding three weeks ago and I nearly pulled my nappy hair out. Kids were so unruly!
Mine is 10. I think under 10-12 sounds reasonable.
Usually I feel like 12 is the cut off age. After kids turn 13, they tend to want to be like the adults.
Personally, I would check with the parents. I would only get the toddlers the kid's meals and serve the rest the same as the adults.
@noritake22: I agree! I think some parents would be offended if their kid at nuggets and fries and everyone had a nicer meal.
But on the other hand...kids eat CHEAP! I would say the cutoff is 10. But if there were one or two kids under that age then I would probably ask the child what they want to eat.
Thanks ladies, I never thought of checking with the venue for their cut off age. I did spread the word about no kids at the wedding, unfortunatley i was ignored.
I am doing 11 and under receive kids meal; well that was realy determined by the venue.
Our venue is like a lot of these, the kids cut off is at 12yrs.
I would just ask the parents. Most chose the kids meal. I had one 4th grader who wanted a big kid meal and 1 junior in high school who wanted a kids meal! Our venue had the rule under 5 eats free, 5-12 half price, and over 12 full price.
My youngest sister was 14 at the time, and I just asked her if she wanted to be included in the kids' buffet (which included chicken fingers, juice and mac n cheese). She said she wanted things from both the adult and kids, so I made the age 14 and under.
@ bRooklynRocks On our invitations we told our guests that they either had two seats or one seat reserved for them. One of my relatives is bringing her six year old as her guest. We spread the word about no kids but I guess it didn't get to everyone. Then I have others that RSVP'd for 3 and 4 people, Mom, Dad and two kids...HELLO it says two seats. It's been fustrating to say the least.

Hi,
Need your opinions ladies, I have 8 kids RSVP'd for the wedding, (4 of which are part of the wedding party) should I purchase kids meals for all of them? They are between 5-14yrs old. The kids meal options are chicken/fries, mac & cheese or pizza. What are other brides doing?
