For those bees that are married or are almost done with planning, what is one thing that you wish you had saved the money on & where would you have spent it instead? I'm still early on in the planning and looking for suggestions to stretch my budget as best I can!

    Thanks!

I wish we had cut the DJ and done an iPod wedding and spent more on the centerpieces. They were the only part of the reception I felt that was a bit lacking.

Our wedding was super laid back and no one danced much, so the DJ was kind of unnecessary. Good thing we didn't spend too much on her.

I wish we were able to do the iPod thing, but it became practically too difficult.

I was between 2 venues that I loved and let my mom make the ultimate decision since she is paying for the reception, but having just received the banquet order, I seriously with we had gone with the other choice. It would've cost half as much at the most. These costs are just crazy.

I am not planning myself or have gotten too yet, but I know my sister was sad about the location (our small backyard) because the date had to be moved up due to surprise pregnancy.  Luckily they had been together long enough and everything was already ready (everything bought and decided on) besides venue and it was a 2nd wedding so, I would say from my experience, making sure everything is good and set just in case anything happens.  Not even pregnancy - anything could happen!

Or at least know your backups.  But I am not hoping that happens to you! Good luck!
