RRUELAS26@YAHOO.COM:  Remember tht plus size girls’ figures vary as much as other girls. Some are very busty, some are apple shaped, or thicker in the middle, and some are pear shaped- heavier in the hips and thighs.

Have you asked the girls for suggestions on what styles they feel they look best in?

All my girls are very different shape wise and I wanted everyone to feel good in what they were wearing so I picked a color, length, & fabric and told them to pick whatever they wanted that fit those requirements. Have had very good results from 4 very different ladies. As long as fabric is the same I think it will look unified without being matchy matchy. And if you want matchy matchy a – line shapes are flattering to everyone 🙂 hope that helps!

For the wedding I was in last year, the bride said long, chiffon, eggplant purple from Alfred Angelo, and we chose from within those confines. Maids 1 and 2 were plus size pears, and we chose these dresses:,

Maid 3 was an apple shape, and she chose this one:

I would post a photo of me in the dress, but the new Bee format erased all of the photos I saved on here. Sorry

I know this thread is a little old, but I had to show you these dresses from David’s – I know I saw some girls trying them on when I was there looking at bridal gowns. I’m the pop tart, and I was about a size 20 in dresses, and the gal at the end was a size 24 – I think these dresses are damn flattering.

This is a little late… but I am new to this site and thought I would offer what I can!  Here is a photo of my MOH/sister in Mori Lee 682.  It’s VERY flattering on all body types and she said it’s comfy and she feels confident in it.

Something with straps and a natural waist will work best on 90% of women regardless of their size.

My bridesmaids are all shapes and sizes and I chose this dress (it really flatters them is the weekend so if I can i may upload what they all looked like in them on the day of). They also had the option of adding a strap if they wanted to. Its the Lazaro- LZ3089

A dress that is fitted on top and then accentuates the natural waist line (where the tiniest part of the torso is) and flows out from there, looks great on most women.  Also, as a busty gal I would prefer dresses with wider straps so my bra straps don’t show, not too deep of a neckline, or too deep of a back.  Maybe you could just specify a colour, length, and fabric and let them choose their own dresses?

GIGI1985:  Convertible dresses are good for this scenario, then they can style as desired. Try not to put them in empire waist as it tends to make them look pregnant. See photo of me in my brothers wedding 5 years ago.

Natural wasited dresses that accentuate the waist are definitely better. Don’t do like one the posts above and get something makes them look like they are wearing a sack and have no figure either.

These would be perfect styles:

All of these are David’s styles. They typically have a wide variety of sizes.

I’m having the same issue as one is bigger and said it MUST have sleeves (non halter) as she has to wear her bra (size FFF) none of those above would work for her. Ugh… This is the only thing that is not done yet that I’m stressing on.

MrsTtoB:  I’m with you. One of mine wants sleeves and it is very hard to find one that I like.
