There is the really cool umbrella idea that was floated a couple weeks ago something about "shower you with thanks". I had a good idea a week or so ago, but now I've forgotten it. I think it was some sort of cooking kit - like pasta sauce, gourmet pasta, and colander or something. hmm... can't quite remember it. Just that it had to do with food.
Probably depends a lot on the hosts and their age ranges.... I have a couple 50+ hosts I could use help with. I'm looking for suggestions too - so keep them coming.
The hostess for my shower really likes to cook so I got her a signed copy of the cookbook done by the chefs at the Biltmore estate which she's planning on visiting when she comes for the wedding. I love the fact that it's related both to our wedding and something she loves to do.
For my showers, I made personalized stationary for one group of women (on publisher, printed in color at Kinkos on cardstock, and included envelopes).
I also did Trader Joe baskets filled with snacks, wine, etc. for engagement party hosts and those went over very well. Some of them were themed (i.e. appetizers: gourmet sausage, cheese, crackers, red wine; brunch: sparkling wine for mimosas, gourmet pancake mix, maple syrup, nice jam). Of course, with all, I included a hand-written note.
Got any ideas?
