I love the boat idea! Very cool =] My photographer did some cute shots of the couples in the boats with the girls' legs hanging over the boat and her toe in the water and her head in her FI's lap. It was really romantic, i almost forogt it was a picture =]
I agree the boats would be great. But maybe a fun colorful umbralle or maybe what is something that you are your FI love. Jenna Cole had this couple bring I DO letters they were really cute!
We loved using "props" during our engagement pictures -- balloons, an ice cream cone we shared, etc. And half of our pics were taken in an indoor farmer's market in Philly, so there were TONS of options of stuff to pick up, use, play with, etc. Good luck!
All of these ideas are really cute so far - thank you!
Miss Bruschetta - the shared ice cream cone sounds adorable!!!
We are also considering the option of including our dogs in some of the photos and taking them to the dog beach - they are the reason that we met after all! I am just wondering how much of a handful it will be to have them around!
do you guys have a shared hobby or something you both feel passionate about? or a special location that is very dear to you....these things can make the difference between a run of th mill e-sesion and one that really has significance and shines. Also, familiar things and surroundings make it that much more natural and easy for you guys, which usually means better pics!
I love photos with empty picture frames and/or awesome lighting. I am not usually one for props, but I really love those backlit smoochie pictures!
I loved the pictures using balloons I've seen, there’s so many things you can play with :) But def a place you both love would be so cute and meaningful for the both of you, or how about the place you both had your first date?
Darren - Our dogs are pretty much what we have in common, and they are the reason that we met in the first place...so we are hoping to somehow incorporate them at least in part of the shoot!
Miss Poodle - Don't you just love pics with balloons? They are so playful and fun! The most recent e-shoot that my photog did was with balloons, so I don't want to completely copy those...darn it darn it!

So, the FI and I are having our engagement photos taken at the end of the month, and I'm starting to brainstorm what I am envisioning for them! Our photog is very creative and energetic, and is literally up for pretty much whatever/wherever we want to go (within reason of course)! He did an e-session recently where the couple carried around bunches of blue balloons: http://pilsterphotography.blogspot.com/2009/06/e-session-blue-balloons-jess-blake-too.html
I absolutely fell in love with these, but I don't want to copy their exact idea! Does anyone have some cute suggestions on what we could do? Location-wise, we are going to Tarpon Springs at the Sponge Docks (its a little Greek town with old fashioned sponging boats docked there...its very cute), and then I am toying with the idea of driving around the golf course that I work at to take some pretty pictures with trees/green etc.
All ideas would be very appreciated! Thanks!
