I've been to A LOT of showers, yet none of them had a theme! Not even my own.

I threw a luau shower for my sister (she was going to HI on her honeymoon) - we had frozen drinks, hawaiian inspired food, and the guests received totes with flip flops, nail polish, and little pedi gifts. Huge hit!
I also threw an English tea party shower for my friend who was moving to England after her shower. We had tea time food and tea which was served in her grandma's tea china (her grandma had like 4 sets of teacup china sets). Guests received a small teapot/tecup ornament with a teabag, honeystick, chocolate dipped spoons, and lemon drops.
I am really into planning showers but always have tons of help from my aunt who is very creative and DIY's just about everything : )
Wine and cheese - with little tasting stations set up through the house and awesome wine glass stacked centerpieces
Someone had a cute theme probably 8 months ago - it was Margaritas and something. But the idea was gifts were entertainment type stuff - board games, movies, cds - food was mexican and drinks were margaritas. I was a fan of this just because we didn't need a bunch of dishes and would enjoy board games and the like.
