Awww what a cute story! Ooooo I would have been so mad if I were her haha- I don't want another ring I want THE ring! ;)
That is really cute! I'm glad things worked out for them. :)
ah! that is soo aggravating! but very sweet. i would have been like "honey, go trade in these ELEVEN rings and use them toward a down payment on THE ring." ;)
how sweet, but err my nutso better not buy me a ring unless it's the ring. i'd cause bodily harm!
I don't know- I would have killed him. But I guess at that point you are so excited for it to finally happen.
I felt so bad for her. And the crazy part was that she would only wear one ring at a time on each hand - so why he kept buying them for her no one knows! But now she has the rings she wanted!!
mattel that's a fabulous story!! i kinda feel like something similar is going to happen to me! but seriously, do we think he was really that clueless that it didn't occur to him that giving her any other ring but an engagement ring wouldn't be insulting? sheesh!
Before I got engaged I posted on the waiting boards about how my boy had given me 5 RINGS before "the" ring, one of which was given at christmas in front of his family being videotaped.... and it wasn't an engagement. I almost killed him :D But he proposed in July after that christmas, and I almost didn't believe it was happening due to all the other times I thought it was, lol...
But yeah hang in there girls! :)
Um...this could be my husband. That is pretty much exactly my story. God love him....he had no idea what all that jewelry was doing to me!!!??! Gah!!!
But eventually he gave me the right ring and here we are happily married!

I thought you would be the perfect audience for a cute story that we all can relate to.
I met one of my good friends, Megan in April 2006. One of the first things she told me when we met was that when her and her now husband first started dating, she told him she wanted to be engaged by the three year mark, which was coming up that July. Well July came and went, no ring. Every holiday/birthday/special event came and we all told her "maybe this is it." She got frustrated with him, he just kept telling her it will happen. She tried not mentioning it. She tried talking to him about it. To make things worse, for every single holiday and birthday he bought her a ring. He thought he was being nice. Finally after Christmas of 07 he bought her another ring. By this time she had 11 rings from him and more necklaces, earrings, and bracelets than she could stand. When he gave her another ring that year, she left the room sobbing, and he didn't understand why. By the time their fifth anniversary was approaching, she was ready to give up and reevaluate because she couldn't understand why he just kept avoiding it. He gave her his anniversary card a couple days early... it said "Happy Anniversary To My Wife." She was LIVID. She asked him if it was a sick joke because they weren't engaged and she wanted to be married to him so bad. He asked why she was so mad, she said because the card says to my wife, I'm not your wife. "No, but you could be," he said. And he proposed. They were married in July.
I love that story and I was so happy for her. I just though you all would enjoy it, too :)
