We’ve all seen those cute signs that have different ways of asking guests to “pick a seat, not a side” for the ceremony. Do you know any cute ways to ask them to sit near the front? The church is massive and we’re only having around 60 guests. We probably won’t have ushers, and I decided the church is so grand any decorating I do would be either lost or look silly so I’d rather not do tulle or ribbon blocking the pews. I’d rather just have a sign near the entrance. Here’s a photo…I think there are even more pews in the back beyond what you can see here.

My church has this thin decorative rope (sorry I don’t know if that’s the correct terminology) to block off the back pews when fewer people are expected. So you can still block off pews without decorating. Who knows, the church might already have rope it uses for that purpose itself. You could ask someone from the church if they do.

This isn’t school
Please occupy the front pews.
Seriously, I would block off the back pews. If the church doesn’t have something you can use a roll of ribbon at minimal expense and effort.

I would block them off with a small rope or have the minister ask guests to occupy the front rows. I’ve been to a wedding where we were asked to do this and people were happy to move forward.

I’ll see if the church has any rope we can use and if not I’ll make a sign and ask the priest to make an announcement before we begin.
