@KH:  I’ve heard that when you clean your face to get a cold water face cloth & shock your pores, it helps tighten them back up after being opened by the soap & warm water, that’s why it’s easier to get blemishes again because the dirt just goes back in there? Sorry if that’s not too helpful! When I read your post it was the first thing to come to mind, hopefully some other bees can help you out! (& fish oil is great for your body -hurray-)

I just placed an order for Green Pasture’s fermented cod liver oil after hearing a lot about how it can help acne.  Since I went of BC a year ago my skin has been terrible!  Especially on the chin and shoulders.  I thought that before I spend $50 a pop + perscriptions to see a specialist I would try the natural remedies.  I don’t want perfect skin, just better than this!  Your post really uplifted me that maybe the cod liver oil will help me.  I also head that the Vitex supplement can be helpful for acne when coming of the BC too.

I don’t have any natural remedies, but when I do get a break out the spectro acne care vanishing  lotion stuff is seriously the best! Wear it under makeup and the breakout is gone quickly

@KH:  I’ve been trying the cod liver oil in capsule form for about a week now and haven’t seen any improvement 🙁 did it take a few weeks for you? I currently have a huge cyst starting on my chin 🙁 I can’t even talk without it hurting!

@KH:  Thanks! Is the liquid version just awful?! I got capsules because I’m too much of a chicken to try liquid :o/ I have a feeling I’ll have to switch to liquid though!

@KH:  oh yes! My doc has put me on Nordic Naturals algae omega (fish oil for vegans). It’s supposed to help my breakouts!

my natural remedy is this wonderful tower I’ve made- it’s a mixture of 1 tbsp thayer’s toner, three drops of lavender essential oil and 3 drops of lemon essential oil. It has taken care of all the lil suckers that have popped up on my face!

I went off BC about 6 months ago and started breaking out like a teenager again.  Someone suggested a medicated face wash called Dermadoctor Ain’t Misbehavin.  I’ve been using it for two weeks and my face has totally cleared up.

I have had trouble with acne ever since puberty but its more the under the skin kind with some rare blemishes.  Having tried countless prescriptions (never had acutane though), I tried getting facials and was introduced to this product.  http://www.mariobadescu.com/buffering-lotion  It’s basically gotten rid of the under the skin acne.  When I ran out of it, my skin started reverting back to its old bad self where i felt like my whole face was itchy.  Hope this can help someone.

@shrinkgirl:  Same here. I stopped BCP in December and my skin was fine for the first couple months and now it is awful. I’ve never had acne like this before. I’m trying to stick it out but I’m seriously considering getting back on BCP! The last few pimples have been cystic and they are so painful and ugly. I started using tea tree oil a couple weeks ago and it seemed to be helping but I had four new HUGE ones pop up this week 🙁 ughhhh I’ll have to check out the stuff you suggested! I am desperate!

@sailgrl18:  Did you use just the lotion or the whole kit?

@MrsTillerResq:  I just use the buffering lotion.  It’s basically been my miracle product and doesn’t overdry my skin.
