I need some reassurance, Bees! I was talking to my parents over the weekend about my April wedding and told them we are having kind of a “lemon/lime” theme as far as colors go and my dad ended up saying that we are having a John Deere wedding since yellow and green will be our main colors, with black accents. Centerpieces will be different on each table, but some will have lemons and limes in tall vases, some will have yellow roses and daffodils.
Ummm a John Deere wedding is the LAST thing I am going for and had never thought of that before now. I’m going to post some of my inspiration pics and a pic of my BM dresses and PLEASE let me know if my dad is right and guests will think it is too John Deere, or if he is crazy.

Until you mentioned john deere, I wouldn’t even had remembered those were john deere colors. I think the only people who might notice are people who like john deere alot [like, enough to have one of those john deer license plates]. I think your colors are lovely.

I love your colors! Dont worry about dad,his opinion will change once he sees everything pulled together.

Haha! Sorry, but that is SUCH a dad comment! I wouldn’t care the slightest about it! It’s a fresh pallet and it feels very appropriate for a spring wedding. Go ahead and leave your dad to take care about other stuff than the colour scheme. 🙂

Nothing about the pictures you posted says “john deere” to me. Just strike it off as a silly dad comment.

It does not look like tractors, based on what you posted.
Your dad is just one of these guys:

Pfft! The last thing I’d think of is John Deere! Your ideas are very lovely!

those aren’t the right color green to make me think john deere. Just make sure to stay away from that specific color green and you’ll be totally fine. Dads don’t really know anything.

I think yellow and green totally has the potential to look John Deere-esque but none of your inspiration pictures remind me of John Deere at all. Stick to lighter, muted shades of yellow and green rather than bright tractor colors!

@MeiFrancis: +1. John Deere is more forest green and banana yellow.

@hlayers: John deer is crayon green with primary yellow accents. It seems that you are doing primary yellow with accents of green. Just make sure the yellow out-balances the green and you’ll be fine. 🙂

@the boss of you: LOL! I love it!
@hlayers: I am going to go out on a limb and be ‘gender biased’ for a moment. Perhaps your father doesn’t have the capability of ‘envisioning’ the final result, rather he is only putting pieces together in his head and relating it to something he is familiar with. Your inspiration looks beautiful.

@the boss of you: Haha, that’s awesome!
OP, don’t worry about it … John Deere uses kelly green, not lime green. 😉

I can’t tell you how many times I had to change our wedding colors because my then-fiance (now hubby) said it looked “too this” and “too that” lol! I think your colors are pretty and fun!
