A professor of my ‘psychology of gender’ class posted this story and I thought I’d share it. I think it’s pretty wonderful that this dad would don typically female clothing (in this time period & in this culture anyway) to help his son deal with bullies. I showed the story to Fiance and he think it’s brilliant that this father is standing up as a role model for his son. 🙂
Just thought I’d post this for anyone who is interested. Share thoughts and opinions and such if you’d like, but keep things civil, please.

I think it’s really sad that most kids are so heavily pinholed into the toys, games, clothes, ect. that are “apropriate” for their gender and never get to develop their own sense of taste. When you’re 5 wearing a skirt has nothing to do with your gender/sexuality. It’s just a garment, and really young kids don’t yet understand all the arbitrary meaning that society has applied to it yet. It’s so great that this dad is standing up for his kid.

wow thank you for posting this! I love seeing parents supporting their kids instead of trying to change them because society will frown upon them for being “different”.
