So.....this may be a silly, simple question, but once you download a free font from dafont.com, how do you use it??  Thanks for any help in advance!

On my Mac, I usually have to log out of my computer then log back in, and it pops up in MS Word after that.

It's been awhile since I've downloaded a font, but you might also have to open the file you downloaded too, and then do the log off/og in thing. Sorry this isn't more specific!

If you're on a mac, goto your library folder and inside that the fonts folder. Drag the new font into the fonts folder.

I'm not on a mac, I'm on a PC.  Any help from a fellow PC user??

On a PC, you can open the font file (the one that says "The quick brown fox..." over and over in the font, in different sizes) and click "Install". At least, that's the process on Windows 7. On XP, I think you go into the Control Panel and to Fonts, but I don't remember the exact process from there (I think you'll have to pull up the file from a browse field, but I haven't done it in awhile and I don't have XP to confirm). I hope that at least gets you started in the right direction so you can figure out the rest, or someone can help you more! :)

i think when you download from dafont, it is a zip file, so you will need winzip.  (you can get a free trial version from their website).  once it's unzipped, you can install it via the control panel.  hope that helps!
