Our reception (yes, believe it) is in the gym of facility dedicated to helping women and their children who were victims of domestic abuse. It’s in-town and the historic part of the original mansion is where we will hold the ceremony. But did I mention the reception is in the (nice) but utilitarian gym annex?
It’s about 55 people total. We’re using lattice to enclose the space, U-shaped configuration of rectangular tables and a buffet setting. We’re spending all our money and resources on the menu: logs! of fillet mignon, seafood and lobster paella, champagne. Whatever makes you happy, right?
Anyhoo…I’m still trying to figure out how to make the decor less…gym. Maybe just go with it and get dance chart decals, but I can’t find any. Help? Pls see below for an example. It’a a Guinness door mat promoting responsible drinking, but you get the idea. Feet positioned along the (gym) floor with different dance steps. Hoaky but it is in..did I mention…the gym? Really need a sense of humor to carry this off, I think. Any ideas along those lines also truly, really, keenly appreciated!
