The MIT ballroom club offers free weekly open dance classes.

they have the schedule on their site: http://web.mit.edu/bdclub/

I have some friends that used to be on the team and it seems like a great bunch of people that go to these classes! 🙂

I actually received dance lessons as a wedding gift, and took my first private dance lesson at the Arthur Murray Dance Studio in Boston’s park plaza with my husband last night.  It was really fun, and by the end of the 45 minute session, we had the basics of the fox trot, and the rumba down, with an underarm turn!

Oh, and don’t let the website deter you.  It may look like a bit much, with their videos, etc, but it’s actually quite normal in person =)

I’ve only had one private lesson so far (with Chadlyr), and it’s been great.  We’re actually heading back tonight for a group class!  I highly recommend checking it out, and if anything, they offer a complimentary dance lesson when you come in to just see what it’s all about, and see what styles would suit you best.

Hope this helps!
