My FI and I just started to take lessons yesterday. We're taking lessons at NY Wedding Dance and so far, so good. I really like that it's quite private, which means just us and our instructor. So not too embarassing. We just put on our wedding song and the instructor started teaching away. More than anything, it's a lot of fun! And it is very personalized for the couple! It's located near Herald Square.
We took private lessons with Kerensa. She's really fun and work well with your style. But you definitely need to practice outside of the classroom to get good.

If you don't have time to practice on your own, I'd suggest quantity not qualit, just to force yourselves to practice. Manhattan ballroom has some great dance lessons. Just make sure you know what your first song is going to be and which dance goes with it.
Thanks for your help!
Will definitely check these out and have lots of fun kicking up your heels

I'm hoping the hive can help with referrals to dance instructors.
We work in Manhattan and live in Queens so anywhere in these 2 boroughs will be great. FI and I need quite a bit of help with dancing...ok a lot of help
. I get so uptight I may need some drinks to loosen me up.
So, anyone have any experiences (good or bad) with dance instructors/studios in NY?
Thanks!!
