We’re taking our dance lessons from Dance Manhattan.   I first used them a few years ago when a guy friend and I (we were always each others wedding dates) decided that we both wanted to learn to swing dance.   They have lots of options and times for group lessons, and were always super friendly.

So when the FI and I needed private dance lessons for our first dance, I called up Dance Manhattan and they hooked us up with great instructor named Peter.   I’m sure all their instructors are just as fantastic – give them a ring!

They’re located on 19th between 5th & 6th.

We went with Sandra Cameron Dance Center. $400 for four group lessons (they cover six basic dance steps, salsa, waltz, tango, rhumba, etc.) and three private lessons. I’m happy with them so far!

we’re another Dance Manhattan couple. Lou is our instructor and he’s awesome. Their prices are pretty reasonable and we’ve been very happy with our experience.

@Hobochic – I wonder if we’ve shared a studio! Our lessons are usually on a Tuesday.

@Habibi – Wouldn’t that be funny!   Alas, we’re strictly a Monday couple…and I think FI will be danced out after our last lesson in two weeks. 🙂

Oh well, that would have been a great story! Good luck with your dance. Supposedly we are going to continue after the wedding but we’ll see what FI really says when we get home from our honeymoon. It certainly makes the bajillion weddings we go to every year more fun!
