- Wedding: August 2011
My dad is a very shy man. He does not like to be the center of attention at all. So needless to say he is a bit nervous about all the dad spotlight moments in a wedding. To help with his nerves about the dance, My dad asked me to join him for ballroom dance lessons. So sweet and cute. I have the best dad ever!
Last night we had our first dance lesson. Let me tell you, it was rough. First of all, ballroom dancing is hard. Second, my dad has no rythm and I only have a little apparently inherited from my mom. This might just be an excuse but we are both very tall which I swear made it worse. My dad has GIANT steps with his long legs and has a hard time taking regular people steps. My dad could not get the dance steps much less move to the beat of a song.
In conclusion, we have a long way to go and my dad was very smart in suggesting dance lessons. However, it just shows me how great of a dad I have. He is willing to do something so out of his comfort zone and work so hard at something he is not good at or really interested in. He never once asked “do we have to do a dance?”, he just put on a smile and asked for dance lessons.
