Has he said what he would prefer to do?
Do whatever you feel is right for your family. I think it should ultimately be his decision though.
I think that's up to him too. If he wants to dance with both his mother and daughter - go for it!
If he wants to dance with both, that sounds cute! However, she is only 5. A full song might be a bit too long to dance with the daughter, especially while everyone is watching. Could he dance with his mother, and then have his daughter join him for the end of the song? Or he could pick a shorter song to dance with his daughter.
Couldn't he dance with his daughter as part of the general dance and still have it be special? My sister and I danced together like happy, excited silly women right after the DJ opened the dance floor at her wedding so we were mostly alone, then gradually joined by others and it was totally spontaneous. I'm not big on having multiple staged dances though, that's just me!
The only wedding that I've been to recently where the groom had a daughter from a previous marriage, he did a special dance with her. It was really sweet. I don't remember if he also danced with his mother, but knowing her, I'd be shocked if he didn't. I think that would be very sweet.
If he dances with his daughter first, and then his mom, you could always dance with your daughter during the second song.

Hi! We're getting married in November and I have a question to you all out there. Both of my parents are deceased, and my fiance's parents are both alive and still married to one another. My fiance was married previously and has a 5 year old daughter who is going to be the flower girl. Is it, in your opinion, too much to have him dance with both his mother and then with his daughter? I probably won't be dancing with my brother as he is not one for that type of thing, but I also don't want to be over doing it with him dancing with both of them. I think it would be cute for him to dance with his daughter, but I am not sure if that is really done or not.
